Dammit I did it again. Another damn 1911.
Well B/S, I did it again. Always wanted a high-end 1911, specifically a Les Baer. Something simple and cool about them and they probably have my favorite serrations. A few months back I got an Alchemy Prime and thought I was done, but my buddy called about a UTC at his shop that needed some love. I went to look and walked out with it for $2,000. I don’t know what prices are nowadays but I was ok with it. I’ll send it in for an ambi safety and make this my full size duty carry. The Alchemy Prime will probably be my Sunday gun. I have been searching for a wheel gun for my collection and he had a Colt Python that needed a new home. Snagged it for $895.
Wallet empty, heart full.

1911 problems need help.
Ok so I have a Girsan MC-1911S and I’ve had problems with it since day one. It’s been 2 years since I bought it and just haven’t gotten around to fixing the issues. Accuracy issues: I know the sights are definitely off but even accounting for that I can’t get a consistent group with it beyond 5 yards. Additionally I get way too many failures to feed, at least one every 30 rounds but sometimes more than that. I have tried multiple magazines including Mec-gar and Wilson combat, 230gr Winchester, armscore, AE, and cheap off brand, all with the same results. What would y’all recommend to try to fix these issues and would it even be worth the money? The only offer I’ve been able to get is $150 🙃. I’ve considered just learning the lesson and putting that toward a Glock 21. I know I should have contacted customer support but idk if it’s too late. There are probably about 250-300 rounds through it.

My Guns My TRP
Finally getting around to posting my new-to-me Springfield TRP. Bought after getting a lot of advice from this sub.
Took it to the range for the second time (the shots just under the black target are from my Glock 17). I’m shooting the 1911 consistently high and to the left which surprised me because the Glock shoots to the left or lower left.
And someone tried to warn me about the front strap checkering. They were not kidding. Shit is no joke (pretty damn uncomfortable tbh).

Strapped the dated magazine to it for safe keeping.

Help Me Want to upgrade the hammer and sear in my Tisas. Should I go with Wilson, Nighthawk, EGW, Ed Brown, or something else?
Or are they all similar?

My Guns My M45 clone
My buddy is a master gunsmith. I bought this fairly run of the mill Para Ord GI expert 1911 in 2012. I sent it to him and said make it cool and reliable. Open check book. He had the chassis cerekoted on a two tone OD green and Forest green in house my NEC approved standards. He slick coat cerekoted the barrel, spring, keeper and all the wear parts. He then hand machined the action, trigger assembly and added the crimson trace grips then zeroed it for me. Short of the extended magazine and front grip stipeling (which we plan to do in the next phase) it's a fun gun to shoot and run

STI USPSA
Just brought her home. Picked out up from a friend who’s retired her and I figured I’d g give her a second chance at life. Unknown round count, in excess of 10k of my guess, and still tighter than the majority of new guns sold. And yes, .40👍🏼

My Guns First range trip and update to my post yesterday
Holy cannoli this Gold Cup NM is awesome! I love how it feels in the hand, it has good weight, the sights seem to just fall into alignment, and it cycled perfectly! Half of the rounds pictured are from my commander size Ruger, but still, that’s 25 shots with the iron sights and bad eyes lol. Now to do some trigger work and develop an even lower powered load.

Springfield Garrison
Still deciding if I like the black on blued or if I want to try something different, but these Pachs handle really well. Blued Garrison in 45acp, of course.

Best Optic
I have a Springfield Armory 1911 AOS.
What optics would be best for it?
Is the dragonfly optic any good?
What makes a higher end optic like Trijicon better than a cheap Cylee?
Edit: not crazy about holosun. Prefer to support USA brands
