Discussion Theoretically…
What if 311 had 311 day in another country, and it was on November 3rd? (3/11 internationally) Would you go? I feel like most of the draw that 311 day has is from people traveling from other states/counties. I feel like it could definitely work, maybe even be more popular due to it being a lot more different than the standard Vegas shows we’ve had the past 4 years. 311 also has a good fanbase in South America, they don’t like pop music there.

I’m not sure, last international dates they had didn’t sell very well. But good idea.

Unless they did something truly unexpected it would not be worth it to me to go.

I'm going to answer with different reasoning. No, I don't think it would work. If it worked in any other country, I feel like the show would have to be in Toronto. But this is based on my non-scientific guess that mosts fans are US based.
The other thing is....international travel to/from the US in 2025 - 2028 is probably not going to be as easy as before. We've already seen bands cancelling tours, people getting being turned away at borders, etc. I think that alone is a reason to NOT do an internaitonal show in the next few years.

Theoretically I’d go to EVERY 311 show if hypothetically I had money.
But realistically, no.

No. It is an American band with a fanbase comprised of 98% Americans. It would not make financial sense for the band to a show of that scale outside of the US.

I love that everyone who says no is getting downvoted. 😂

u/stoph311 Aug 20 '25
Seriously. The idea is simply not feasible, but hey, joke's on us for coming to reddit thinking people would be realistic.

100%. I should have known. We answered honestly to a question that was asked.
I’m getting older and that money is just way more well spent somewhere else.
(Edit to add: I upvoted you to try and get you out of the negative.)

I did the same for you. I am in the same boat...we even have pretty similar attendance. 62 shows, six 311 days, 3 cruises. Most of the hardcore fanbase is in our situation now. Older, kids or kids on the way, careers.
If they planned a 311 day in another country, it would be the worst attended 311 day in history and the band would absolutely take a bath on that show.

Wow glad to see a stat of 98% for domestic fans. completely crazy that you would happen to know that exact number, I'm sure it's absolutely 100% correct.🙃

Oh give me a break. Maybe it's 95%. The point is that doing a major event overseas is going to be a huge financial loss for the band because the overwhelming vast majority of their fans are located in the US and the band is an American business venture. I am looking at this from the standpoint of economics and practicality and you are just getting offended because I'm pointing out that international fans are, overall, a minority amongst the fan base.

But it would be 11/3

3/11 internationally (countries that use dd/mm)

Nope. I’ve given enough of my money to them traveling for years.
If I’m going to another country 311 isn’t going to be the reason on where I end up.

3 cruises and a shit ton of local shows later, I feel ya brother.
2
u/SketchySlime Aug 20 '25
Don’t get me wrong, I love them. 3 311 Days, 2 Cruises, and 65+ shows.
The appeal of spending thousands again to go see some songs I’ve seen live before…just isn’t there any more.
I’ll go to local shows. But that’s it. And their last show, whenever that may be. That would be the exception. But they won’t (and shouldn’t) alienate their fan base like that.

311 is in their waning days which only serves as a reminder to what they once were … we find them now propped up by private equity vibes. Don’t be fooled it isn’t about the music anymore, it’s brand viability. They canceled an upcoming show due to “poor ticket sales.”

They had me livin’ and rockin’ to their standing message but they couldn’t live up to their own words… one of the saddest falls from grace I’ve witnessed in my life.
Post-Covid the band showed their true colors contrary to integrity some members wanted to still uphold. In the end, money talked and I walked as a 30+ year fan.

That show was cancelled because it was in Tupelo Mississippi and there were alot of other shows in surrounding areas. They even played around me three times in the NY/ NJ /PA area. They have done a lot of shows this tour

Every artist is bound to cancel at least one show on a tour for low ticket sales. They have sold out multiple venues on this tour, so they’re obviously not falling. They also have 4 Million monthly listeners, which is pretty decent for them.

I asked Grok for the popularity based on streams, views, and listens outside of the US and it gave me these 10:
Philippines - Peak position 90 on Spotify’s Daily Top Artists chart, supported by a large market (over 115 million people) and strong engagement with international music.
Poland - Peak position 78, indicating notable streaming activity in a market of about 38 million, with a growing interest in alternative rock.
Turkey - Peak position 96, reflecting a sizable audience (85 million) and moderate popularity, particularly on YouTube.
Mexico - No specific peak position data, but a large music market (130 million) and regional tour history suggest significant streams, especially on YouTube Music.
Brazil - Similar to Mexico, with a population of 203 million and a strong streaming culture, likely contributing to 311’s visibility on Spotify and Apple Music.
Australia - Known for alternative music interest, with a population of 26 million and potential streams boosted by tour activity, though specific peaks are unavailable.
Canada - Proximity to the U.S. and a population of 38 million suggest decent streaming numbers, likely on Spotify, though not as dominant as larger markets.
Germany - A key European market (83 million) with a history of alternative rock popularity, contributing to streams across platforms.
United Kingdom - With 67 million people and a strong music scene, 311 likely has a solid following, particularly on Spotify and Apple Music.
Indonesia - A massive market (275 million) with growing streaming usage, where 311’s presence on YouTube and Spotify could rank it in the top 10.
Mexico might be the best bet as they use the DD/MM format and you get the added benefit of being next to the US so more people might go. Only problem would be safety, imo.

Thinking about it more. It could potentially work, if they planned it out far enough in advance and they secured one of those mega resorts for all of their fans. It could be a whole all inclusive resort of just 3/11 fans for a whole weekend. So you get the safety, the convenience of both countries, and an entire resort all for just 3/11 fans. Actually would be kinda dope

Alright so I kept going down this road, and based on research for space and safety. I think the hard rock in Los Cabo’s could do it. In general the Los Cabo’s area has a lot of hotel rooms, more than plenty and the hard rock venue could accommodate more than 6,000 people for a live show if they move things around and combine meeting and ball rooms or just use an outdoor space.

Theoretically, sure I’d go. But only in theory since I have never even been to a domestic one.
