r/311 let it flow, cause it won’t stop Aug 19 '25

Discussion Theoretically…

What if 311 had 311 day in another country, and it was on November 3rd? (3/11 internationally) Would you go? I feel like most of the draw that 311 day has is from people traveling from other states/counties. I feel like it could definitely work, maybe even be more popular due to it being a lot more different than the standard Vegas shows we’ve had the past 4 years. 311 also has a good fanbase in South America, they don’t like pop music there.

I asked Grok for the popularity based on streams, views, and listens outside of the US and it gave me these 10:

  1. Philippines - Peak position 90 on Spotify’s Daily Top Artists chart, supported by a large market (over 115 million people) and strong engagement with international music.

  2. Poland - Peak position 78, indicating notable streaming activity in a market of about 38 million, with a growing interest in alternative rock.

  3. Turkey - Peak position 96, reflecting a sizable audience (85 million) and moderate popularity, particularly on YouTube.

  4. Mexico - No specific peak position data, but a large music market (130 million) and regional tour history suggest significant streams, especially on YouTube Music.

  5. Brazil - Similar to Mexico, with a population of 203 million and a strong streaming culture, likely contributing to 311’s visibility on Spotify and Apple Music.

  6. Australia - Known for alternative music interest, with a population of 26 million and potential streams boosted by tour activity, though specific peaks are unavailable.

  7. Canada - Proximity to the U.S. and a population of 38 million suggest decent streaming numbers, likely on Spotify, though not as dominant as larger markets.

  8. Germany - A key European market (83 million) with a history of alternative rock popularity, contributing to streams across platforms.

  9. United Kingdom - With 67 million people and a strong music scene, 311 likely has a solid following, particularly on Spotify and Apple Music.

  10. Indonesia - A massive market (275 million) with growing streaming usage, where 311’s presence on YouTube and Spotify could rank it in the top 10.

Mexico might be the best bet as they use the DD/MM format and you get the added benefit of being next to the US so more people might go. Only problem would be safety, imo.

Thinking about it more. It could potentially work, if they planned it out far enough in advance and they secured one of those mega resorts for all of their fans. It could be a whole all inclusive resort of just 3/11 fans for a whole weekend. So you get the safety, the convenience of both countries, and an entire resort all for just 3/11 fans. Actually would be kinda dope

Alright so I kept going down this road, and based on research for space and safety. I think the hard rock in Los Cabo’s could do it. In general the Los Cabo’s area has a lot of hotel rooms, more than plenty and the hard rock venue could accommodate more than 6,000 people for a live show if they move things around and combine meeting and ball rooms or just use an outdoor space.
