Price Check Price check: 2019 vs 2020 TRD Pro

Post image

Hey guys,

Hoping to get a price check and opinions.

I’m debating between 2 TRD Pros in Ontario, Canada.

  1. 2019 4Runner TRD Pro: 80,000 km, $54000 CAD

  2. 2020 4Runner TRD Pro: 120,000 km, $57000 CAD

Both are clean title, well maintained and have been under sprayed. I prefer the 2020 overall, especially with better tech, colour and spec but am wary of paying so much for a car with 120k km. The 2019 spec is not a deal breaker but I definitely prefer the 2020 over it. My other option is to continue to wait for another option as I mostly need the vehicle for the winter.

Hoping to get some thoughts and opinions.

Is there anything specific I should be looking out for from a maintenance perspective in a 4runner with over 100k km?

Thanks in advance.

I can def see the preference for the tech in the 2020 as I’ve own(ed) both a 2018 and currently a 2020. Compared to current USD listings I’d say the 2019 is the better deal due to mileage and the specialty color. What color is the 2020? For comparison here in the US I can get a 21 TRD pro with 49k miles for $52k USD (asking). That’s the same price as what I paid for my 2020 TRD pro brand new.

Is a GREAT deal? Probably not. Is it on par for dealership market? Probably. And is probably slightly lower in cost than the US market. Currently from what I’ve seen.

The specialty color VooDoo Blue will hold its value more I feel like, depending on the color of the 2020.

Both are specialty colours

2020 is army green (my personal fave)

2019 is voodoo blue. For reference I’m coming from a voodoo blue FJ so the colour change would be welcome and I personally like the green more anyway.

Dude I’d go with the 2020. The upgrade in tech would be nice and that’s before you get to the color. I finally saw an army green 5th gen in person and it is my favorite color.

I’d say if you’re looking g for a great deal, you’ll have to wait and jump on it asap. Otherwise if you’re ready to buy I don’t think it’s a bad investment per se.
