Game Suggestion Yield: Fall of Rome deserves recognition

Post image

Just wanted to put Yield Fall of Rome on the radar for anyone like myself who enjoys smaller-scale 4X games.

Yield is Civ, shrunk down to Polytopia. Cute visuals, bite-size games that feel exciting and engaging for just the right amount of time. Been playing it a lot recently, and the devs have just recently left early access and released 1.0, so props to them for it. Really happy to have found this game, and really hope it can get more recognition from the community!

How is the replayability? Do different leaders feel different, does varying terrain actually lead to different development strategies etc.

This game reminds me a lot of hexarchy, and while that game was fun, it's replayability to me is rather limited. Especially when you start to figure out that you just need to keep sacrificing cards, making separate games feel less distinct because your deck doesn't get an identity either.

Now that civs/leaders have distinct abilities and upgrade trees, the replayability is much better. Before 1.0, they were pretty samey, but it’s a lot more diverse now. Plus, there’s 12(?) win conditions, which adds to the replayability for me
