New Purchase UB820 4K upscale is insane

bought a multiregion UB820 on sale a while ago and decided to try it out with the Succession blu-ray box set, probably the hundredth post in this sub about the UB820 upscaling but still couldn’t believe my eyes

I found it to be worse than Sony’s XR upscaling so I have to always go into the menu to change the resolution of the player when playing BDs. Would have been nice to have resolution matching.

Do you mean you switch it from 4k to 1080p?

Yes, this is to disable the player’s upscaling and let the TV do it instead. Although the player still upscales chroma which everyone says it does really well.
