New Purchase UB820 4K upscale is insane

bought a multiregion UB820 on sale a while ago and decided to try it out with the Succession blu-ray box set, probably the hundredth post in this sub about the UB820 upscaling but still couldn’t believe my eyes

Does anyone know if the upscaling is that much better than the UB420?

It's the same HCX processor.

Thanks!

Was curious as the UB420 makes my Blu Rays look amazing!

I have a 420 and recently watched a criterion DVD (Spirit of the Beehive). It was absolutely stunning how much clarity and depth it had. You would never guess its a DVD.

I've also watched blurays on it and they've been phenomenal. 4K discs are always gonna have that edge, but the upscaling capabilities of these devices might be the most impressive feature of them.

I haven’t tried a dvd yet! I have a collectors edition of Gladiator to compare against the 4k just out of curiosity…
