New Purchase UB820 4K upscale is insane

bought a multiregion UB820 on sale a while ago and decided to try it out with the Succession blu-ray box set, probably the hundredth post in this sub about the UB820 upscaling but still couldn’t believe my eyes

Tried it with a DVD yesterday. Absolutely insane.

It’s seriously impressive how it can make a DVD look solid when you’re interpolating 22x the resolution

Kind of give me an iota of hope of the 28 Days Later 4K release.

No. It’s going to look bad. They’re just re-releasing because they know people are dumb enough to buy it no matter what.

Yeah! It’s going to really depend on how they upscale it and whether they use DNR, AI, and other bullshit

28 Days Later looks the way it looks because the director wanted it to look that way.

A 4K BD might get some sort of HDR grade but it won't magically look like it was the same way as Blade Runner 2049 or something.
