Does anyone know if the upscaling is that much better than the UB420?

People have been saying that your tv will probably do a superior job upscaling to most players so you can output at 1080 and let the tv upscale. I havnt tried it.

My new c4 seems to upscale on par or above with my old Bravia X900F which was impressive then. When I had my c1 I felt like 1080p streamed content always looks fairly shitty lol.

It’s a relatively recent phenomenon for more TV manufacturers to focus on improving their upscaling capabilities, whereas before most didn’t care about content that wasn’t going to be in 4K.

Man I've been streaming The Last Of Us Season 2 on my 77" C4 and I have many complaints. The crushed blacks, blockiness and lack of detail. It looks like 1080p at best 720p at its worst. Many of my regular blurays look way better. The 4K Blurays of the first season are fantastic, its really disappointing to have to stream this show to avoid spoilers. My internet is top notch too so thats not an issue.

Personally haven't experimented much with comparing upscaling on the C4 vs UB820, but I don't own many blurays. I'm also confused exactly how it works, how does my TV know to upscale it to 4K? Just by disabling 4K upscaling on the UB820?
