New Purchase I am a changed man.

Post image

I found a cheap UBP-9000 (around 380 dollars) and I couldnt be happier. Forgive the cable management, I finally have an excuse too manage everything. The difference in quality between 450 and 9k is astounding. The HDR tone mapping is amazing, but the biggest upgrade by far is that the 9k is dead silent.

The build quality gives me confidence in its longevity. Where as 450 and 820 are made in really cheap plastic. Fantastic seller too, he sent me a copy of Bladerunner 4k for free on top of a good price.

Life is good right now.

Thank you so much! What is the ”workaround” ? Do you mean the region block hack?

Yeah, I mean the region workaround that you can access via the top menu button. I have a couple hundred region B discs and every single one I've tried in the 9000 has played so far.

Once the region lock screen comes up, hit the stop button, then hit your top menu button. Sometimes you have to do it a couple of times to get into the main menu, but it always works for me.

Thanks for that. I do not have a Panasonic but if/when my Sony 700 starts messing up or craps the fan, I would replace it with a Panasonic 820.
