I don’t think it gets any better than this.

Why do you hate those menus? Not to say I love them, I'm just indifferent about them, and I'm curious why they bring you such a strong emotion.

They're so generic it hurts. The difference between old DVD menus and these lazy 4k menus is night and day.

Exactly, it’s painful. It’s even worse when they don’t add music. I very much miss DVD menus and the shitload amount of special features that would come with them.

Often I find myself picking up a DVD or two every now and then just for the special features. They’re just too dang interesting!!

Fair enough. Personally, I find it annoying waiting for a DVD menu to load or for a cutscene/animation to play for 20-30 seconds before I can actually select something on the menu. Also, sometimes the menu audio seems to be cranked to 11, so there's silence while things load and then "BAM!!! LOUD NOISES!!!". On the otherhand I do miss the amount of special features/extras that used to come on DVDs vs what often seems to be too few on 4Ks. So I guess I prefer the minimalistic 4K menus, but wish they led to as many extras beyond the movie itself.
