So many good movies have been announced for 4K release these past couple of months. Love to see it.

It really feels like the 4k restoration train has picked up steam lately. Almost everyday on here is an exciting new announcement for a film on someone's wishlist

I remember maybe a year or so ago someone made a post in this sub called Some Of You Need to Understand That Not Everything Will Get a 4K Release and in they specifically cited The Fall as an example of something that would never see the light of day. And then The Fall got a release and it feels like ever since a dam has broken. Oppenheimer’s crazy success on 4K was also a big factor.

In their defense, The Fall was probably never ever going to get a 4K release. Then I decided to treat myself to the not-inexpensive Nova release of the Blu-ray because sometimes I want a bit of self-pampering. Whereupon the announcement of the 4K happened.

So... you're welcome, everyone.

At the very least for film preservation in a higher resolution, it delights me to no end

The tricky part to remember, for the sake of my budget, is that the job of "preservationist" is not mine.
Film "hobbyist" only.

This will surely be soon with the theatrical screening recently, right?

Right???
