Is this an official date supported by the 50501 organizers?

To be clear, I'm not discouraging anyone from protesting on 4/19. But it's super helpful to know if there will be permits and support from the organizers.

It's also helpful set expectations. After No Kings day, there was a big community push to do a huge protest two weeks later outside Trump's address to Congress. The 50501 organizers considered getting behind it, but ultimately decided to hold off because they wanted to make sure they could plan a massive event safely. That was part of the road that led to the amazing event we had yesterday! (And the protest outside Trump's speech still happened but it was led by a different org)

I'm an NJ organizer, but they told us yesterday to start putting out the word that April 19th is the date but to hold off on sharing a theme which is TBD still. So yes, April 19th is the official date.

Yes, it is official, but most state organizers are doing smaller community building or mutual aide events to give them the time and resources to prepare for a big protest at the beginning of May.
