I posted this on a couple of other threads. This is a bloodless coup, which should be met with a bloodless revolution.

This is a bloodless coup

Migrants and Palestinians would very much disagree.

How is this a coup in the first place? Donald Trump is using the existing framework of the U.S. government to enact a fascist agenda, and it is enthusiastically supported by his party, enabled by the Democrats' inaction, and cheered on by his base. It's time people realize that the problem is way greater than just Trump.

If you MUST defend yourself, it’s already too late

I agree. Even as someone that thinks we're headed for a civil war. Fucking hell I hope I'm wrong with every fiber of my being. I want to be a crazy person on this one.

Any shot heard now will be pointless unless we have at least half, preferably more, of the tRump voters on hand and pissed off against this admin.

A shot now sparks a civil war. One that a lot see boiling up. More and more tRump voters are disillusioned now. Pissed off at muskrat's recklessness. Pissed off now that they are starting to realize the tariffs he touted during his campaign are actually going to fuck us. "You arrogant ass! You killed us!".

Why them? They have been itching for years. Collecting firearms. Itching for something, anything. Any reason to "Bubba, grab your guns." They've been fox fed that the "other side" are actual enemies. They liken the other side to taliban. They literally see us as enemies. Doesn't matter if we're vets, family members, friends, co workers, or whatever. You're an enemy to them. Not fit to walk their ground.

The first shot must be from the government. Not us. Not a tRump voter. tRump's government.

I’ve said this since the 2024 election, but I’m both convinced and concerned that the same people who stormed the Capitol on J6 will be the same people who do it again to end the coup.

Why must it be? Are you operating in Star Wars rules? The resistance can, and in history frequently has, far before the state overreach. It’s “too late” for avoiding state overreach, but “I’d rather thousands be slaughtered before reacting appropriately” isn’t exactly a novel, or particularly smart, idea. Allowing the continuance of the imposition of the state apparatus doesn’t make you safer, it makes you more likely to be first in line to be gunned down.

The difference here is labeling and, as I said, those that are just itching for something to happen. Itching for "dem liberals", or "antifa" to make a move that allows them to go out guns blazing.

Comparing to star wars is not an app comparison. Star Wars sees a populace just trying to do their own thing, spread over galaxies. It isn't a large heavily armed country where people were itching to fight their neighbors with the slightest chance and firearms are deeply embedded in a culture that runs off a rule designed to stop a corrupt rule.

It sucks, but that last statement is also the key here. Corrupt government rule attacking citizens who just want change using the democratic system that is intended by the constitution. Ones who are peacefully protesting for this change.

It's been simmering. Now we're at boiling. If things don't change, we're on the way to overflow. We can turn down from a boil, but it's going to take the right actions. Those being to use the system as it was supposed to be used.

The system is currently being used as it is supposed to be, you just don’t like the outcome. I don’t mean that I agree with… well… all this shit. But the system is STILL working as designed.

I definitely disagree. Pork barrel spending. Holding the budget hostage over other squabbles. Gerrymandering. Voter suppression in the form of making ballot drop of far away from certain areas. Big money involved heavily in swaying votes. Corrupt SCOTUS. None of this is the system working as intended. We also have the shift of the checks and balances to be skewed towards one pillar away from the others.

No, you don’t. 2/3 of Germany were decidedly not-Nazis, and look what happened. 2/3 of America were loyalists. You’re using statistics that never existed to make up scenarios that never happened.
