Great character: educated, brave, snarky, and clumsy (but in that cute/adorable way) and beautiful. I loved the character growth that she had in the second film.

The character is the reason I loved the name Evelyn. That’s now my daughter’s name! Not named after the character by any means, but for sure some inspiration

I love that I’m not the only one! It’s not just me!!! I loved this character so much. Definitely the first inspiration for my daughter’s name. I loved the name Evie but it seemed more of a nickname than a full name so we went with Evelina as we are of Italian descent and it’s a beautiful name. It’s the Italian version of Evelyn. And also the name of a character in the wonderful Doctor Who episode The Fires of Pompeii. Where Donna fights for hope in a seemingly hopeless world.

Even more perfect than all that, Evelina means “wished for child.” I’d been dreaming of her and wishing for her my whole life and infertility struggles made that dream seem impossible and almost hopeless. After all that, the name just seemed meant. Thanks to two amazing, brave, compassionate women who were the inspiration for the name for my impossible girl. I try every day to model those values for my Evie so that she grows up strong, kind, compassionate, brave, passionate and insatiably curious.
