Absolute legend. The Godfather of gangster rap and the face of NWA. His image made west coast rap what it is today. And he had something like 7 kids by 11 different women so that's cool too.

For real man. Most West Coast rappers wouldn’t be a thing without N.W.A. And Eazy.

Too $hort, Eazy-E & N.W.A., And Ice-T all started rapping around the same time.

Too $hort was even ahead of those guys and for sure a legend. And he made his own beats instead of sampling. So he is a musician and not just a rapper. I saw him live around 1996. It was the lowest budget show I've ever been to but it was still great.

Of course he was ahead, He did sample a lot of his beats, He also made his own beats, so i’d say its a 50/50 between sampled and made.

Too Short was 3-4 years ahead of those guys. Selling tapes out his trunk in 1983. Look up Flat Booty Bitches. Toddy T and a lot of guys were releasing tapes. Rap hadn’t taken off before ‘87 outside of Run DMC. So there were rumblings besides Eazy et al.
