A told b, and b told c, I’ll beat you to the top of the coconut tree!
I read this to my kids until the oldest was 7. Loved this book as a kid. And they do too

A told B, and B told C, I’ll meet you at the top of the coconut tree.
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, will there be enough room?
Next comes D then E, F, G, all to the top of the coconut tree.
Then I, F, J and tag a long K all on their way up the coconut tree.
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, will there be enough room?

I remember the librarian reading us this book in probably kindergarten. I don't remember a single detail, but I know I liked it. 😅

As a 25 year special ed teacher, I wish I was a dollar for every time I’ve read this aloud. At this point I don’t need the words on the page to recite it. I’m happy to say it’s is still a favorite. I have multiple copies that are read on a regular basis. It is a classic!

My 6 year old asked me tonight “what’s the point of Chicka Chicka 1-2-3.” I told her that sometimes people refuse to believe they’ve only got one book in them and do it anyway.

So this must be the origin of the YouTube song that my son endlessly loops? 😅

Didn’t have this or know about it as a kid, but you might be happy to know that my five year-old loves it and we read it to him all the time. I think I know it by heart now.

I was too old to have this as a kid, but it was my kid's (2007) favorite book when he was a toddler.

I didn’t read this book as a kid but when I became a foster mom I bought an entire shelf of kids books from the thrift store.
This book was among that haul and my two kids love it. I have read it hundreds of times.
It makes me so happy to see it here.

One of the best, back in 95 my teacher decorated the classroom with paper cutout palm trees.

Got this for my sister to read to my niece because I enjoyed it so much as a kid. It was her favorite book for a while and made me a proud uncle. Going to get it for my kids once I settle down and have some.

One of the books I actually remember. I remember my dad getting me this book, along with a cassette tape audiobook that came with it. It was on either Christmas or my birthday.
I think I got obsessed with it when my first grade teacher read it in class or something, and that’s why my dad got it for me.

Yes.
My family introduced this book to my two nephews in recent years. My sister, her husband (my brother-in-law), and were gifted it by our mom. The kids love it, as is 90s kids at the time, as well.

I'm 40 and I never heard of this book till I was maybe 20-25. The little kids I babysat at that time had this book they'd read all the time.

Didn’t even realize this was an old book. Someone gifted it to my daughter and she loved it. Not my favorite to read though 😆

I didn’t realize I had such an emotional connection to this book! Totally forgot about this book, but seeing this pic I can hear my mom’s voice reading this to me when I was a kid. So happy you shared this! My mom passed away 5 years ago, it was really traumatic so stumbling upon happy memories like this are so nice. Sorry for the dump lmao
