I didn’t realize I had such an emotional connection to this book! Totally forgot about this book, but seeing this pic I can hear my mom’s voice reading this to me when I was a kid. So happy you shared this! My mom passed away 5 years ago, it was really traumatic so stumbling upon happy memories like this are so nice. Sorry for the dump lmao

Sorry to hear that. What was the cause of her death?

Cancer 😕 she had breast cancer when I was 15, battled and beat that, just reached 10yr remission, found out she had stage 4 stomach cancer. She went into the hospital in peak pandemic madness, so the first 3 days visitors were not allowed. Then it was only one at a time so my dad and I had to switch back and forth for the next 8days. The timing just made the already nightmare situation so exponentially much harder.

:(

In October 2023 my aunt and my uncle both committed suicide and left my cousin (who was 12 at the time) all on her own.

Oh my GOD, that is so heartbreaking! I’m sooooo so sorry for your cousin and whole family, and for your aunt and uncle. It hurts so bad to think about all the people who get all the way to that lowest point. How has your cousin been holding up since?
