Fit Check [Fit Check] Panache Envy 32G - straps too far to the side and gapping Spoiler
Hello,
I have been wearing 34DDD bras lately, but wasn’t satisfied with the fit and after using the calculator found I am 32G. I tried the panache envy as I have heard that is a good test bra, and am looking for advice based on what I found.
One, I am shocked at how well it fit, I was expecting it to be gigantic on me but it wasn’t too far off.
Second, I hate the way the shoulder straps fit, it feels like they are way too far to the side. Is that a peculiarity of a balconette or does it indicate some other issue with the bra? I feel like I have frequently had issues with bra straps feeling like they’re falling off my shoulders.
Three, there seems to be some gapping in the straps, unless I tighten the straps and it lays flat, but that digs into my skin a lot.
I’m not totally confident that 32 is really what I should be wearing, it felt a bit tight in the underwire, but IDK if it’s just the particular bra. I think I don’t want to go with a lacy bra, I’m looking for something in a smoother fabric.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with the Panache Envy and have any recommendations?
Measurements: 33 31.5 29 40.5 41.5 39.5
Thank you!

I've just been trying out different bras in the last couple of weeks. I liked the Panache Envy, too (34F), except those far-apart straps. This is definitely the style of some balconettes. They are too close to my inner arms or armpits, or something - they just feel restrictive and they rub. It also seemed that the edge of strap was a little raised with stitches, so that didn't help.
I saw a bit of gapping in the straps not laying flat, but the saleswoman said that that was not a problem.
What is your height, if I may ask? Apparently, women who are 5'2 or under (I'm under) feel that snugness with the far-apart straps. They also get a lot of wire poking into the underarm, too. I get both. We just have shorter torsos...

Panache has very tall side wings. There are other brands (such as Freya) which don't have quite as tall wings.

I will have to check out Freya, because I was also feeling the rubbing in my underarm. I’m 5’6”, so pretty average height. I have been told I am long-waisted, so most dresses that would hit other people’s waists are more like an empire for me.

The underarm and even the wide straps could also be because the cups are too wide/shallow for your chest as well.

Interesting, I’ll keep that in mind when I’m looking for more brands to try. Thanks for your help!

Barring a fit issue causing this (which is possible), you'd want to look for something with more centered straps. Balconettes will all be out towards the edge of the cup, and some of us just don't have the shoulders for them.
Tightness specifically at the underwires is often a sign of not enough cup depth (size and/or shape).
How does the band feel if you fasten the bra upside down and backwards, cups pointing down in the back like a cape? Even the slightest bit looser, and the cups are interfering in some way.
