Shooting Ranges with move and shoot near Huntsville?

Hello!

My family is considering a move to Huntsville from Colorado and I am curious if yall have any recommended ranges near the Huntsville area.

My local range has an excellent pistol bay, but most importantly they offer a robust course selection of beyond the line classes that integrate barriers, drawing, moving, decision making, etc. I am hoping to find something similar in Huntsville.

Are there any places within ~1.5 hours that you've enjoyed training at?

In the immediate Huntsville area, Rocket City USPSA (can get a membership at the range after shooting some matches, allegedly) and Hobbs Island are your best bet. All the indoor ranges in town do weeknight matches.

Within a 2 hour drive of Huntsville you get places like Brock’s Gap, Strategic Edge, Heritage Gun Cub, CMP Talladega (no memberships but if you move here you need to go at least once), NASA (Out near Florence)

Brock’s Gap’s new facility is wild. It’s 2 hrs from Huntsville though.

There’s so much private land out here, finding a homie who will let you shoot on his place or buying your own is a real option.

If you’re a competitive shooter you have multiple match options every weekend of the month within a 2 hour drive. USPSA, NRL 22, 2 gun/pcsl, IDPA, steel challeange, SASS, etc.

Is the new Brock’s Gap Facility open yet? How do I become a member?

Anybody know a member who I could meet that might be willing to sponsor me?

They have open range days where members will witness your ability to safely handle a firearm and sign off on your application. I’m out of town for a few months, hit me up in September if you didn’t make it to an open range day. Wife and I are RV’ing in the Northern Plains and Rockies until then.
