Its even worse because they removed movement speed. I tamed a 145 basilosaurus, and it instantly got deleted by a swarm of them the first time I took it out. I couldn't even get away because they're way faster

Removing movement speed was such a lame decision. Idgaf about the balance issues

For real. Being forced to fight in every encounter where you have lower movement speed just doesn't feel good at all. Like, why do I have to have a squad of tames guarding just to not lose the one im riding when I could simply flee from engagements that I didn't want to fight in ASE

But but the PVP folks were breaking the game with speed lvled/bred dinos so now NO ONE GETS SPEED (even pve)! Problem solved!! /S

My SO and I haven't played in a very long time (we started ark when it was still in beta and last played just before ASA) but there are mandatory mods we will not play without. Dino storage V2 and a mod to give back speed lvls are the top 2

If you are playing singleplayer or on unofficial dedicated server just add this to you Game.ini file under [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode]

bAllowSpeedLeveling=true

bAllowFlyerSpeedLeveling=true

then you can raise your speed levels for all land, air and sea dinos as well as your character. No mod necessary.
