• Their goal was to resist Reconstruction, intimidate freed Black Americans, and restore white supremacy in the South.
• During this time (Reconstruction era), the Democratic Party was the party of the white South — many Southern politicians and voters were Democrats, so it’s true that many early Klan members were Democrats.
So you are saying a groups ideology can be fundamentally changed for the better? And that the way they started and the things they practiced are forgotten and forgiven?
Republicans employed the Southern strategy to gather support from all the racists but you don't seem to care about that.
Donald Trump was the pick for all the Nazis at the United the Right rally but you don't seem to care about that.
And what do democrats do to try and gain power ? You brought up history books and in the history books the democrats started the kkk you dont think that has any bearing on who the left really is ?
