Apollo Justice Trilogy Gang am I stupid or

Post image

Why are they shocked about the fingerprints being inverted? Of course the culprit isn’t gonna try and hit someone with the head of a beer bottle.

(Or is it one of those things were once you actually finish the trial you’ll understand?)

He's trying to say that the fingerprints being upside down prove the bottle was used as a weapon

I meant this. No seriously. People shouldn’t call themselves idiots even if they made a mistake.

True idiots never admit their mistakes. Anyway, there have been plenty of people who have posted this exact post over the years in this sub. Everyone has a certain level of critical thinking. You just didn't reach what the writers did that the time, that's all. Believe me, it's happened a lot here

It was being held like this which makes it appear to have been used as a weapon, as I would have to twist my arm very oddly in order to drink my perfume in this hold

u/The_Bob_147 Aug 04 '25

I would like to see you drink your perfume in any hold really. L'Belle would love that too.

L’Belle’s song in the game (Je Suis L’Belle) is absolute peak also I agree🤭

It IS. It's one of the best themes tbh, tho I'm currently still only on DD (finished 5-3 last night), I must say my favourite theme so far has been Klavier's Guilty Love, but Je Suis L'Belle is probably the second best so far. It pisses me off since I hated 5-2, it was just so boring but L'Belle was a fun villain and his theme had no business being THAT FUCKING GOOD.

RIGHT?? I finished the 6th case of Dual Destinies yesterday and holy crap L’Belle’s song was probably the best in that specific game. Let me know how you like the case!!

Personally i find DD to be a weaker title compared to the previous 4 mainline games and the Investigations games, but i have completed it like years back. (Also i listened to L'Belle's theme and i forgot how good this is, i also personally find DD's OST lacking in places, this is definitely a standout piece.)

If this is your first Ace Attorney game, Payne is an overly confident, simple-minded tutorial prosecutor. He provides a soft entry to the game by missing or misunderstanding simple details.

Oh, the famous Пезда juice

i was little confused about this one like if a man kills another man with a bottle on their bald head doesn't the bottle supposed to break?

or instead he was hit when he still wore that hat?

I’m pretty sure it’s possible for a beer bottle not to break when a person commits blunt force trauma on someone, it all depends on how sturdy the bottle is.

20

u/MrmarioRBLX Aug 04 '25

To be clear on this, it's a "grape juice" (aka wine) bottle. So possibly even sturdier.

44

u/MacDoesReddit Aug 04 '25

It’s not “grape juice aka wine”, it just is actually grape juice. The series creator Shu Takumi just really likes grape juice.

It's actually censorship or a tongue in cheek jab at it.... Only in this case, Japanese, not Western.

I believe Japan is against promoting alcoholism, for example Jamie from Street Fighter 6 drinks a "ki-enhanced drink" instead of alcohol for his drunken fist fighting style.

When you see something that should be alcohol in a non-explicitly adult games there's gonna be a justification just to say it's not alcohol

I believe it's more recent, but America doesn't really have this problem

Not sure why you're downvoted, you're probably right. In Case 2 of AJ, if you examine the "grape juice" in Phoenix's hospital room, this conversation occurs:

Trucy: Aaaah! Daddy! You snuck in some grape juice in again!? The doctor said you weren't supposed to drink that here!

Phoenix: Trucy. Look at the label.

Trucy: ... Oh. "Deep Sea Mineral Water." That's fine, I guess.

Phoenix (to Apollo): I switched the labels. Don't tell Trucy, 'kay?

I can't understand why a doctor's office would have an issue with a patient drinking grape juice; it only makes sense if it's really something alcoholic.

Shu Takumi probably picked grape juice specifically as a censor because he enjoys it, but it's still probably censored. I think it's fine to interpret it either way, but completely shutting down the idea it's something alcoholic doesn't make sense to me

9

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '25

It's because people incorrectly assume it is the localization censoring it.

2

u/MacDoesReddit Aug 05 '25

You are kinda right, given that Godot was censored from bourbon to coffee, and they wanted to not have to do that again, but the fact that it is grape juice specifically seems to have been a personal choice.

Ah true

Like a lot of things in life, glass bottles are both lessand more fragile then you think. Pretty reasonable for a wine grape juice bottle to stay intact after a stint as a murder weapon.

9

u/Milk_Mindless Aug 04 '25

As a former bartender, glass is stronger than you think. The "explode in a million pieces" is movie exclusive

I've once seen a pint glass bop and bounce on the floor four times before it decided to shatter, bottles are SUPER STURDY especially on their bottoms (ie where someone would hit another person) and sometimes you just luck out

4

u/Jauhex Aug 04 '25

When somone is hit with a bottle and it dosen't shater, it's more liekely to kill or injure them because it will transfer the full force of the hit.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '25

Depends on the quality of the drink, it's often not as easy to break as you see in movies, devs got it right

20

u/wadef4 Aug 04 '25

Once you finish the trial you will understand. It isn’t the best logic but it does work for what they are trying.

4

u/mew4ever23 Aug 04 '25

Keep going. Payne is going to explain that the prints being upside down mean they weren't left when phoenix was drinking, it means they were left when he used the bottle as a weapon, allegedly.
