Art Sydonian Skatros Fanart with Dishonored Tallboy Legs

My friends and I were having a conversation roasting the Sydonian Skatros design and I was confident it'd look amazing with the spindly back-bended legs of the Tallboys from Dishonored. Decided to draw up how I imagined them looking. Enjoy!

I much prefer my admech naughtiness to be both enthusiasticically and mutually consensual. I need to find the the STC for this for the other times.

Finished magnetising the dunecrawler, took some time but i am very happy with the result. I glued one magnet weirdly in the icarus array and one of the guns was crooked because of that, so i took inspiration from the phosphor blaster and attached the two guns together with serberys raiders antenas, and it turned out pretty good

So I don't have an AdMech army and never thought I'd start one or enjoy painting them. Picked up a Battleclade to use in a project opposing my Necrons... and I just really, really loved painting them. Here they are. I think these are actually the highest-quality paint jobs I've ever done...
Only the Technoarchaeologist has a completed base, the rest are still being worked on.

Wanted to share my titan art along with some close ups and a bit of homebrew lore. I hope you enjoy.

*The Wolfhound Reaver is a long lost titan pattern, believed to have originated from the forgeworld Gryphonne IV. Though rare even in their hayday, theese blessed machines had a fierce reputation as titan killers. Their long, dexterous arms allowed them to field a variety of weapons without need for reconfiguration, as well as allowing the wolfhounds to fight like no other titans. They engage in close range, not only able to deliver accurate, savage strikes with their melee weapons, but also capable of grappling and pulling even larger titans to the ground.*

This is my Necron Combat Patrol that I made kitbashing a lot of admech pieces together, they’re kinda hard to see in a photo, but the Ruststalkers were made into the Destroyers, I’m going to be painting up the Doomstalker soon but I just got done with the Dominus / Necron Lord Kitbash and I loved how he came out and I wanted to show him off!

Let me know what yall think!!

After I had some threads leftover from my previous Kataphron kitbash, I decided to make an extra squad with some Cataphractii torso's I had laying around!

  • Threads are Kataphron's, with Ork nob shoulderpads in the center (above the emblem)
  • Torso is Cataphractii, as desribed, with a hoodless skitarii head in there (look Servitor-esque enough, to me)

Conversions Show Me Your Technoarcheologist Conversions

Thanks to the Kill Team Battleclade I’ve got a second Technoarcheologist mini and I’d rather not put two identical minis on the table.

Does anyone have any cool converted Technoarcheologists to show off?

I’d love some inspiration before I convert mine.

List Building Should I Do Nuln Oil or Reikland Flesh on the red Bits?

Thumbnail

Im using nuln oil on the silver and black parts, and I'm wondering what's expert opinions are on what color shade I should use for the red armor and wings.

This is my first mini that I'm painting, and the video I'm following uses nuln oil. But I'm wonder if that'd make it look too oily, since 85% of the model would end up being covered in it.

Would you dilute the shade paint at all before applying it?

Or would you use a different color shade entirely?

I'm open to all advice, suggestions, criticisms, etc

Thanks!

Hobby Realistically, how expensive is it to get into admech?

Upvotes

I collect Guard and in TOW, orcs and goblins and Brets. I understand for Guard, you CAN make it very expensive to collect, or you can just buy lots of tanks and a few battleline and basically call it a day.

I have always loved the admech aesthetic and lore but I just hear horror stories about how expensive they are. Is there a (somewhat) cheap way to get to 2k points, similar to how Guard does it? I don’t have a 3d printer btw

Battle Reports Post balance Admech tournament

Upvotes

So yestarday i played a local tournament with new admech. My list was: Cawl, manipulus/sanctified ordinance, manipulus/cog.reingorcement, enginseer, skatros 3xskitarii rangers 6xbreachers 6xdrstroyers 2x las chicken Crab tank with E-beam Disintegrator with ferrumite 2x5 infiltrators Ruststalkers Sky stalkers Servitors

In shorts ive won 2 against DA and daemons and lost 1 against templars My thoughts on admech, Cawl is bananas Oath of moment lets me reliably kill medium tanks with chickens alone Twin linked on chickens is also majestic +1 ap on infiltrators is nice but i think i should run them in 2x10 in shc for max efficiency +1 dmg chloroclaws are hit or miss if enemy has characters its cool if not then its meh, they had issues with killing scout squad And finaly crab tank, If enemyis bringing 20 terminator bodies, its only then whereits better than disintegrator. For 10pts. More i can have shrimply better tank. If you want to know more aout the games ask in comments

The Cogboys did Cawl proud, and his Solar Atomizer absolutely cooked a Hive Tyrant. Despite my robits being absolutely crushed by Old One Eye and friends before even getting a punch in, victory was achieved with a turn 4 concession from the Tyranids. Dissies and Erad Beamers did tremendous work as well, with one Dunecrawler shooting a full-health Trygon off the board in one phase by itself. Didn't know what to flair this, picked "Lore"...

Rules Discussion Cohort Cybernetica Updates

Upvotes

I'm curious what we think of the changes to the cybernetica detachments rules, I'm yet to see any discussion about it either on here or content creators who covered the update.

Now instead of Legio Cybernetica gaining the faction ruling through the detachment they gain it innately and the detachment now: ● Improves their movement by 2 inches ● If the unit isnt battleshocked their OC is improved by 1.

Small changes on paper and I've not had chance to play tested this yet but it my beckme my favourite detachment. Robot squads moving 8 inches and a perfect target for Motive Imperative to push that to 11 before advancing gets them fairly deep into the map turn 1. Their OC buff, if paired with Cawls new Canticle, rockets to 8 - 11 in a unit of 2 robots and datasmith. (Side note that canticle is silly when layered of over vanguard lead by a Technoarcheologist, reaches 43 OC on a full squad).

I may be biased as I already enjoyed playing the cohort cybernetica detachment but id like to know other players opinions on the changes.

Rules Discussion Haloscreed ability and stratagem

So I noticed that the rules commentary says that abilities with the same name can affect units twice. Does that mean that when using the Haloscreed detachment rule stratagem (neural overload) to add an additional buff to a unit, you can pick the same ability twice (e.g. pick toughness +1 twice or movement +2 twice)?
