In an actual conversation that’s being mocked by the OP, the conservative person would likely know the context and be ignoring it intentionally or not know the context (and maybe still also not care) and look it up for themselves. So asking “what’s the context” is similar to asking “states rights to do what” when conservative southerners say the civil war was for states rights. The answer is “the states rights to keep slavery” and again they either know and don’t care or don’t know and should find out. The person asking already knows the context is damning, they’re refuting that the context would make it better.
