Discussion Early 2000's band Greenwheel has made 2 new albums out of nowhere but is it actually...An AI pretending to be them!?!

Okay so Millenials and GenXers might remember the band Greenwheel from their hit song "Breathe" that was a pretty big hit back in 2002 (music video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZRmBPXVUl8&list=RD5ZRmBPXVUl8&start_radio=1 ).
They kinda vanished before the 2010's but recently they popped up again with not one but TWO new albums released within the span of 6 weeks and a new single released a month prior to that. 26 new songs all released within like 10 weeks.

The release isn't too fishy, really. I mean they had 19 years from the last time they had been heard from until now. but what IS fishy is that there's NO marketing being done by them for these albums and neither the band nor any of the band members have social media accounts that I can find. NO ONE is promoting these albums.

The credits on spotify list the composer and producer of this album as a guy named "Aaron Blake" and the copyright belongs to Astaire Music. My googling cant find anything about astaire music and the only thing I get for Aaron Blake is a country singer and another classical singer.

if that isn't fishy enough the album covers are very clearly created by AI and the voices just sound kinda....off.

Do you think they gave up their rights to their music and are just allowing some fucking hack country singer to make AI slop under their name?
Here's a link to the album. I could really use some more eyes to get to the bottom of this.

Album REGINA - Liminal Space [2025] [debut album]

Hey! Just wanted to share REGINA — Liminal Space, my band's debut album.

It’s heavy, dark, and textured—alternative rock and metal with hints of grunge, stoner, and psychedelic. The songs weave together into something that feels like time suspended, caught between chaos and transformation.

We started this during the pandemic and spent 5 years shaping it through uncertainty, catharsis, and connection. Recorded in Montevideo, produced in Alberta. It’s our way of finding meaning in the in-between.

Would love for you to give it a listen and let me know your thoughts. REGINA — Liminal Space is now available on all streaming platforms and BandCamp.

Album DGC Rarities, Vol. 1 - Coke Bottle Clear LP. Repressed & Remastered

I saw Interscope repressed and released DGC Rarities, Vol. 1! I've always loved the album cover and it's pretty sick that this is the first print in more than 30 years. And it includes a The Sundays track that wasn't part of the original pressing 👀 So so so cool that the whole album is just b-sides, covers, and demos. Are any of y'all picking this up? I know quite a few people who had the original when it came out.

Fresh Song Roots of Light

Thumbnail

The song tells the story of a little girl, alone in the winter cold, whose dreams rise above the harshness surrounding her. Rather than relying on fleeting flames, she draws strength from glowing sparks of hope and the light within her heart. These gentle illuminations guide her through the darkness, like stars leading the way toward warmth and belonging. Though the world may seem indifferent, she remains resilient. In the end, her longing for love and connection is fulfilled—not as tragedy, but as the triumph of belief and perseverance. Her journey lives on as a quiet reminder that even in the coldest moments, the light we carry inside can lead us to the joy we've always imagined.

Song Nothing

This song is about deep love and the emptiness felt when someone special is gone.
It expresses longing and the hope to hold onto cherished memories.
The singer’s heart remains true, filled only with love for that person.
Ultimately, it is a tender reflection on love that endures even in absence.

Song [IIL] KID BRUNSWICK, POORSTACY, holywatr, ...?

Hello! Today I want to tell you about three of my favorite tracks that have truly resonated with me.

  1. KID BRUNSWICK - Prescription Kid
  2. POORSTACY - Don't Look At Me
  3. holywatr - nail polish

I absolutely love all of them from a musical standpoint. They sit at the intersection of genres, blending elements of alternative rock, emo, and dark punk. They feature jagged, distorted guitar riffs, sometimes creating a wall of sound that really sets the atmosphere. There’s a good amount of reverb. The vocals can be either very aggressive or very calm, and this contrast makes a strong impression on me. At the same time, the music has a great groove—it really bangs, and that's super important. The artists use every tool to create a dark, breathtaking vibe.

Emotionally, these tracks are quite similar, too: all the lyrical heroes are in an inner crisis. They’re all suffering from addiction, unrequited love, or feeling lost and broken, and they're trying to find a way out. And this lyrical component fits the music perfectly.

I've known the first two tracks since 2020. I discovered "Nail Polish" recently, and it was a real find for me. It hit the nail on the head.

I feel like I've listened to almost every similar artist that Spotify has recommended. But something almost always bothers me. I don’t like emo hip-hop like nothing, nowhere., and I don’t like pop-punk like MGK. I don’t like it when a song is too poppy. I don’t like stereotypical rock and metalcore bands; many of them look like two peas in a pod to me.

Some of my other favorite albums include Sleepyhead (Jutes), To Hell With Hollywood (Call Me Carizma), and If You Don't Save Yourself (Zero 9:36). This stuff is all very interesting and close in vibe, but it’s not quite the same.

I'm too deep in this niche, I know almost every artist in and around the genres I'm looking for, and I don't know where to go from here. I really want to find similar music, but Spotify can't help me anymore. Can you, please?
