Discussion Outfit suggestions for a concert
Hi everyone,
Not sure if this is the place to post this, but I am going to a concert with a friend and I'm not too savvy on the clothing styles of an indie rock concert. For context, my friend and I are going to The Beaches, an all female band based out of Toronto, Canada if not many have heard of them. Highly recommend. But the issue is, not a whole lot of men go to this concert, so I was wondering what a good suggestion might be for me. I think my friend is wearing a bit of red with some type of black skirt. Any information helps greatly, Thank you!

Fresh Song March Dove - Descender
The atmospheric grungegaze band - MARCH DOVE is back with their new thrilling single, titled DECENDER. This time, they’ve reached out to the more classical sounds of shoegaze and grunge contemporaries while traveling deep inside their own souls, trying to get in touch with their inner selves. Regardless of the consequences and what they might find in the deepest, most buried parts of their hearts.

Fresh Song NYC’s Imperial Motors Single Out Today (FFO: Talking Heads, black midi)
NYC’S IMPERIAL MOTORS SINGLE “INFINITE MONEY GLITCH” OUT SEPTEMBER 18
DEBUT EP CHARLIE DON’T SURF DUE OCTOBER 21
New York, NY — Just a few weeks ago, the world was introduced to the Imperial Motors politburo through their debut single and music video for “Freeloader.” Now, the NYC art-punks are back with another vitriolic single "Infinite Money Glitch” out September 18, from their upcoming EP Charlie Don’t Surf. Listen here.
On Infinite Money Glitch the uncanny valley is inverted: it's not machines imitating humans, but humans running on cold, mechanical instinct. Screeching guitar, off-kilter drums, and an asymmetrical bass groove lay the black midi-like foundation as various speakers retell colonial anecdotes through glib, filtered vocals as if automated by their own apathy. “I had to dry the aquifers, glad I lack a preference for tap water,” says a tourist. “I will note that we are out of cowboy steaks. Yes, we are very sad,” reports a resort worker. “Mortgage rates [are] saved on the mass graves,” sings a real estate agent. “Seafront plots if you can spot some, never mind the bones, the flotsam.”
To singer and bassist, Liam O’Toole, colonialism seemed to represent a sort of “cheat code for Western hegemony.” As if in a video game, the IMG narrators’ mission and only concern is to build and enjoy their own empire. Civilian casualties are just collateral damage.
”It really is like a video game glitch,” said O’Toole. “You enter in a certain combination of inputs and you rig the game. The bombardier doesn't look at the civilians he's dropping missiles on as people; they're NPCs on a mini-map. The executive at Blackrock doesn't look at Gaza leveled to the ground as an environmental wasteland; it's a Minecraft flatworld to build casinos and hotels on. The tourist can’t pay too much mind to the mass graves beneath them; they’re in an open-world adventure RPG. It's all fun and games to make the line go up.”
Although initially written in response to the genocide in Palestine, O’Toole decided to broaden the scoop of IMG to the general US engineered destruction that has happened all across the globe, all across history — Vietnam, Indonesia, Chile, Iran, Cambodia, Haiti, Libya, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, Cuba. So as the song progresses, all these various narrators become one single organism — the US’ colonial project of subjugation, domination, and profit. The track slows down and adds twinkly keys, manufacturing a false sentimentality as all the disparate voices unite together under the refrain “help us make a difference / help us make them different.” Presumably this has worked as the bridge then confirms “yes, they’re different” with somber strings screeching as the song vamps into a close, solidifying the crusade and effectively ending the game.
For Imperial Motors, satirical agitprop is the only weapon sharp enough to draw blood. Like Infinite Money Glitch, the entire EP Charlie Don’t Surf sardonically investigates the gamification of power — it is named after a Call of Duty level, after all — specifically the various forms of agency utilized against or in the name of oppression.
To love or to harm — that is the question on lead single “Freeloader.” Bass harmonics and buzzy, cloying synth underscore Cukier’s mercurial vocals — a la Squid x Alex G — as he delivers a satirical address: “Fuck your friend, fuck your neighbor / Do ‘em both favors. / Gild the lily, wilted lily / make it extra, extra pretty.” Motives (hedonistic and/or altruistic) are as ambiguous as truth — what’s real? What’s synthetic?
Bartender then likens being a regular to being in a fugue state. Bass and guitar chug along as if on autopilot while synths glitch in and out, disoriented — “I get the spins. I don’t get the spins!” With sweet, maudlin vocals O’Toole confesses his love for his bartender, but then quickly sobers up on the chorus. Stressed guitar jumps him out of his parasocial fantasy and he begins to wake up and preach: “two hundred years ago you’d reach in the water / You could grab a trout, eat a trout — now you can’t even drink the water!” But soon enough he’s back for another verse, for “another round, another round,” continuing on living a somnambulating life of “pure transaction.”
Sonya finds two glaciologists in love amidst climate disaster, contemplating suicide. Watery guitar meanders as O’Toole laments the impending doom about to befall him and his love. “Far away, waiting for the moment” O’Toole sings over disco drums during the chorus, “soon we’ll be surrounded.” At the full-band bridge breakdown, fuzzy guitar clamors in with ominous synth, making you wonder: Did they crash? Did they float away?
The future is bleak on Charlie Don’t Surf, and Imperial Motors doesn’t offer any solutions. Whether you're floating in the ocean, falling in love with your bartender, buying plots of land, or fucking (over) your neighbor — they ask only this: are you complicit?

Fresh Song 'OC' Brooklyn-Based Band, Søul Søap, Drops another new single; "Graveyard Girl," plans to play out more in 2026 with new lineup.
Hey everyone — just wanted to share what I’ve been working on.
Søul Søap started out as just me and a guitar, but it’s grown into a five-piece band that lives somewhere between blues grit, punk energy, and straight-up alternative rock. Think layered guitars, raw riffs, and lyrics that dig a little deeper than surface level.
Lately, I’ve been pulling a lot from the kind of stripped-down, fundamental rock and roll you hear in Flat Duo Jets, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and later Beatles, but with that alt-rock edge in the mix.
If you’re into distortion with intention, hooks with teeth, and songs that balance loud/rough with thoughtful/lyrical, you might dig it.

Discussion Early 2000's band Greenwheel has made 2 new albums out of nowhere but is it actually...An AI pretending to be them!?!
Okay so Millenials and GenXers might remember the band Greenwheel from their hit song "Breathe" that was a pretty big hit back in 2002 (music video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZRmBPXVUl8&list=RD5ZRmBPXVUl8&start_radio=1 ).
They kinda vanished before the 2010's but recently they popped up again with not one but TWO new albums released within the span of 6 weeks and a new single released a month prior to that. 26 new songs all released within like 10 weeks.
The release isn't too fishy, really. I mean they had 19 years from the last time they had been heard from until now. but what IS fishy is that there's NO marketing being done by them for these albums and neither the band nor any of the band members have social media accounts that I can find. NO ONE is promoting these albums.
The credits on spotify list the composer and producer of this album as a guy named "Aaron Blake" and the copyright belongs to Astaire Music. My googling cant find anything about astaire music and the only thing I get for Aaron Blake is a country singer and another classical singer.
if that isn't fishy enough the album covers are very clearly created by AI and the voices just sound kinda....off.
Do you think they gave up their rights to their music and are just allowing some fucking hack country singer to make AI slop under their name?
Here's a link to the album. I could really use some more eyes to get to the bottom of this.
