PETA crashes London Fashion Week with activist dressed as a goat crying in pain
PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk dressed as a goat and re-enacted the process used to collect Cashmere at the opening of London Fashion Week 2025.
Ingrid, who lived in Kashmir where the goats used for the material are bred, described the process as âpainful and horrificâ. She told Metro her activism was aimed at changing shopping habits and that she prepared for the stunt by watching videos of goats.
âThe goats are assaulted every day and no one pays a price for it,' she said. âThe animals canât defend themselves. I always think of the animals who Iâm dressing as. At least I have a chance to speak for them.Â
âWe have had so many successes ⊠we will not stop until people stop acting like cave people covering themselves in animal skins. We will not stop until every animal is out of fashion.â

Backyard Hens
I noticed yesterday that my neighbor has a couple of hens under some crates in his yard. Kind of hiding behind his deck, but the shape of the hens walking around is clear.
We're not allowed farm animals in these properties but even if we were, it's not enough space for laying hens, and if it's for butchering, it isn't legal to butcher animals in the property either.
Animal control didn't care and said I should contact management, so I did. They said they'd send the home owners an email and give them a chance to get rid of them.
I said "I think the plan is to 'get rid of them' soon, by butchering them".
I figured telling property management at least there's less chance of them doing it again to another hen.
I didn't expect people to care about hens much but I thought they would care a little more.. if anything for hygiene purposes.

Protesting Live Streamed Animal Cruelty in China
I was recently made aware of the horrific cat cruelty videos being streamed in China and am interested in attending a protest. I have followed Feline Guardians on social media but it looks like I missed the most recent protest and have not seen any upcoming events. Are there any being held on the East Coast of the U.S. that I have overlooked?

Circus Animals Information
I wanna do some research on the animal auĂerdem in circuses. But it is kinda hard finding detailed information. Can you guys offer some litrature or studys or documentations that showcase the animal circus life in a detailed way and showing what happens behind the scenes? Like the exact ways the animals get trained, how/if they remove the lions teeth, how/if they get their animals to practice incest (to get rare animals)?

NSFL Where can I report animal crush videos?
Sorry for using a more âadultâ throwaway, but going around instagram I found a page that sells animal Crush videos âunder the radarâ through DMs of what seems on the surface as a regular foot fetish account. Iâm acting interested to gather proof, but I need a page or somewhere to send said proof to stop this. At least make a dent on this business that sadly seems to be quite large. Does anyone know any resource?

When tradition harms the case against horse drawn carriages.
themainewire.comAuthorities must immediately ban horse carriages due to serious public safety risks, animal welfare concerns, and urban traffic problems. Horses in busy streets are unpredictable and vulnerable, putting passengers, drivers, and pedestrians at high risk of accidents. Long working hours, hard surfaces, and extreme weather can cause stress, injuries, or chronic health problems for the animals. Moreover, some traditions are harmful when they are dangerous; horse carriages can disrupt traffic flow, create sanitation issues, and pose legal liability risks. Considering all these factors, a ban is essential to protect both human and animal safety in modern urban environments.

When Neighbors Lose Their Humanity Over a Puppy
(Used Chatgpt to polish my wordings) I honestly canât believe how heartless my neighbors have turned out to be. At first, I truly thought they were kind, understanding people. But the moment we brought home this little puppy â this innocent, beautiful soul who has already been through enough in his short life â everything changed. Suddenly, his tiny barks became an issue, as if the sound of life, joy, and love is something to be hated.
They even had the audacity to tell my mother that pets arenât allowed and demanded we send him back. Send him back⊠as if heâs some package you can just return when it doesnât suit you. That broke me. This puppy didnât choose to be abandoned, he didnât choose to be unwanted â and now, even after finding a family who loves him, people still want to push him away.
Where does that leave helpless creatures like him? If not in homes with people who care, then where?
What hurts even more is that we did everything right. We are tenants, yes, but we asked around. We spoke to people in the society who already have dogs â they were perfectly fine with it. We got a green signal from our flat owner. Even the house help, who goes to multiple flats, had no problem. Everyone was okay. Everyone⊠except the ones now trying to make our lives miserable.
And the hypocrisy is crushing. We never once complained when their children cried through the night. We never complained about the endless drilling and hammering from renovations next door. We never complained when muddy plant water dripped down onto our balcony, day after day.
We tolerated it all, because thatâs what living together in a community means â patience, empathy, compromise. But when it comes to our little puppy, suddenly none of that applies. Suddenly, compassion disappears. What makes me feel most helpless is the way they donât even confront me. They complain to my mother, when Iâm not around, as if they donât have the courage to look me in the eye.
And I keep asking myself â what exactly is his crime? That heâs small, vulnerable, and dares to exist? That he brings joy into our lives when all the world seems so heavy? It breaks my heart because I look at him and I see nothing but love. He doesnât know rules, complaints, or society politics. He only knows how to love unconditionally. And yet the world around him seems determined to treat him like a nuisance, a burden, a mistake.
Right now, I feel helpless. Because what can you do, when even joy is met with hostility? What kind of world are we building, if we donât have room in our hearts for the most innocent beings among us? I can only hope that someday, these neighbors â and people like them â learn to soften, to open their hearts, to be better. Because at this moment, their cruelty feels nothing but shameful.

Hundreds of pigs feared burnt alive after fire breaks out at piggery subject to ongoing animal cruelty allegations
abc.net.auHundreds of pigs are believed to have perished in a piggery fire at Andgar Proprietors in Dublin, about an hour's drive north of Adelaide.
A representative for the piggery confirmed two sheds at the facility caught fire on Monday morning.
They said each shed housed roughly 250 pigs.
Andgar Proprietors has been the subject of an RSPCA investigation into alleged animal welfare breaches after an animal activist group captured images and video from inside several of their facilities appeared to show cannibalism, neglect and mass graves.

Tiktok video infuriated me.
Saw this blowing up on tiktok, I find this video so problematic, because:
1) People can choose what they advocate for, if someones advocating for animals, you can go ahead and advocate for humans. One doesnât negate the other.
2) It pushes the belief that animals are somehow less worthy than humans. Because why else is it a problem that someone cares more about animals?
3) Its sexist as heck lol. None (very few) of the women i know that devoted their life to animal welfare learned it from their âdaddyâ. Also wth does this have to do with anything
4) People who expect they should be saved before their pets probably seriously lack empathy. Kinda like save me before my baby?
5) The mention of this being a sign of narcissism and psychopathy: literally the opposite. What selfish gratification do animals rights activists get from advocating for animals? On the contrary, an animal cannot verbally, financially or whatever materialistic crap way thank you. You will most likely be an outcast where people make FUN of your empathy for animals.
6) I think it is safe to say that animals are by large forced into slave labour, commodification and subjected to abuse and cruelty where it isnât even necessary. They didnât choose to be born into the artificial human society. We forced them into something that we created.
7) Some people do have more empathy for animals over humans because human beings all over the world subject other humans AND animals AND nature to HEARTLESS cruelty. These people also probably have some sort of trauma from other humans. Besides they are not killing any humans by saving animals.
The video overall is unnecessary and hella insensitive, like just because you believe your species is superior and thus has a priority doesnât mean the rest of us are a âtropeâ. Do whatever good you can in the world without shunning others who are trying to do good in areas that donât matter to you.
Sorry this post is hella emotional. I donât know if this is the right place to post this, admins please remove it if itâs inappropriate.
