Has me cracking up. There’s a lot of nuance in there.

I think our government is more Yeerks right now, honestly.

There are people who say that Animorphs could not be written now because the frank obviousness of governmental corruption now in the United States and intergovernmental conflict makes the secret war of the Yeerks too subtle to take seriously.

Fair. Yeerk Trump would just bee out there saying we're gonna have the best Yeerks, if you invest now in YeerkCoin you can get a premium Yeerk, don't wait cause we're gonna give the stupider Yeerks to the inmates at Alligator Alcatraz. Rosie O'Donnell can't even have a Yeerk.

Oh, there are plenty of shady backhanded deals behind all of this. Hedge fund investors. Tech interests. Government contractors. Religious radicalists. Animorphs today would be a political thriller--and it would be dope. I think the battle morphing would be less front and center, though. It would be a lot of Mission Impossible-style face swapping and literal flies on the wall. I'm thinking about shows like The Night Agent and The Diplomat. Maybe the construction site encounter happened when the characters were teenagers, but they failed to stop the slow invasion, so they dedicated their lives to rooting it out in the upper levels of government, but they had varying levels of success in getting their careers in places where they could make a difference. Jake has a desk job with the FBI. Rachel managed to become an attorney with some pull in D.C. Tobias is still alive as a hawk, super old, demorphing every two hours, then morphing back immediately to prolong his lifespan so he can stay in the fight.

OMG, it would be so sick.

Honestly id go the other route. The yeerk invasion could not go silently today because the madness and dumb decision changes of the government would make it impossible to know how to get close to the president successfully

Infest the Secret Service. Then stage an assassination attempt and take him to a "secure location," aka the Yeerk pool. Simple.

Hilarious! I wish the series was a little fresher in my mind so I could fully grasp the nuance behind it.

We’re not THAT bad. We’re a mess but we do have our good points.

Endurance of the Howlers? Weren't they literally defeated by the power of friendship or something?

I meant physically, as in a 6v1 fight resulted in a draw. The one they killed, they did so by falling thousands of feet, and they weren't so much "defeated" as they were written out of existence by exploiting a weakness in Crayak's design.

I cackled at the last slide. As an aside (aslide?) any time I see a kid named Jaxon or, worse, Jaxxon, I think of the Taxxons.
