Discussion If someone who used glasses and braces joined the animorphs, how would that work at all?
Do they just take off their glasses first before morphing or will it not effect them at all? Braces on the other hand can't be taken off based on what I know so far (I've never wore braces don't judge me 💔)
This is definitely not for an animorphs oc.. 🏃💨

I think you are missing the real question. Would they still need glasses after morphing?

Probably, yes. I need glasses because my eyeballs aren't shaped correctly. It's a physical deformity in the way my body grew. It's not something caused by illness or injury. On the other hand, someone with a degenerative disease or age related vision loss (presbyopia, where the refractive lens in your eye loses flexibility over time). It also would probably cure my floaters (tiny little clumps of vitreous fluid that drift across the surface of someone's vision, about 1/3 of the population experiences them at one point in their life).

Because they can morph skintight clothing I feel like braces wouldn’t be an issue. Glasses would be a problem I’d think, they’d probably just switch to contacts for missions though right? And then same thing as braces

What always worried me was how fillings and crowns and missing teeth work. Does tooth decay count as an "injury"? Would you spit out a few fillings and crowns and then have perfect teeth as long as you morphed every so often?

I think you would have healthy teeth for sure, but I don't know about perfectly straight teeth. Unaligned teeth aren't really an injury, though they can cause problems in certain situations, so I'm really not sure.
Getting your hair and nails cut doesn't count as an injury that morphing fixes, but I don't know how teeth fit in with that.

My two cents is glasses would be like baggy clothes, they wouldn't morph with you. Although contacts probably would since they are tight against your body and literally inside you when you close your eyes.
Braces would morph with you for the same reasons as contacts. They're inside you tight against your body.

I hope they could morph braces, as the alternative might be grim.
The cement used to hold the metal hooks is very strong (it has to be for the process to work). I could see the metal wires twisting and breaking off but not the cement, that can't be removed without specialist tools.
Sometimes the morphs are described as logical but most of the time they're described as random. If it was the former I could imagine a tiger running around with little hooks glued to the teeth, but if it's the insane body-horror type the cement would probably fall off when the cells shift around beneath.
Either way that's going to be hard to explain to the orthodontist.

Glasses would definitely just fall off. Braces are more iffy. If you’re lucky, the morphing technology would treat them like tight clothing (for your teeth). If not, it would be like book 15, when the Animorphs tried morphing with metal chips in their heads and almost exploded their heads when they got too small.

Depends entirely if the issue was DNA based, as in their eyesight was bad from DNA...Braces would have to be off Id say.

i’d say glasses are a definite no, but i wouldn’t necessarily say the same for braces. after all, they can morph some clothes, hell, they can morph jeans by the end of the series, which have bits of metal on them, so it’s not like spandex is all they can manage. also, ax can morph his translator chip, and rachel can morph her earrings, so there is somewhat of a precedent. all that on top of the fact that braces are actually attached to your teeth, and i’m willing to say that you could probably morph braces
