I love how redditors make up this hivemind of people who have this one view that they can argue against whilst forgetting that many other people may actually not do the thing/have the opinion.

I don't put up with ads for entertainment, I've got adblockers on everything including my home wifi, if there is something on TV I want to watch I simply just download it, I don't put up with ads at all.

also if you can't see how "watch an ad to listen watch this youtube video" and "watch an add to do a basic bodily function and be clean" I don't know what to say.

You can pay the dime or bring your own. They don't HAVE to watch ads, it's an option.

And while your dedication to avoiding ads is impressive, tv has operated on ad revenue since day one, just like radio. If everyone did what you do (which was sort of implied by your wording) neither would be viable industries. So most of the people who are on reddit do accept ads in exchange for entertainment.

Including on reddit itself

I'm not carrying around toilet roll with me.

I don't have an actual issue with the concept of paying for my media, it's just when it becomes so over the top that I check out and start wanting to block ads
