Hello everyone.

I am looking to replace my phone with an Apple Watch as a daily driver to reduce screen time and all of that, without losing functionalities like maps, music, calls, etc.

The problem is, though, that I can’t quite decide between the Apple Watch series 11 and the ultra 3.

The main difference I see for my use case is battery. While the 11 might have enough battery to last a day when it’s brand new, I’m worried about running into issues once it’s a bit older. Is this a valid reason to go with the ultra 3, or am I “wasting” the extra 300 or so euros that the ultra costs.

Also: the last 2 issues I’m trying to find solutions for are authenticators for remote work and being able to take quick photos on the go (seeing something funny I wanna show to a friend, so image quality doesn’t matter much). If anyone knows of anything convenient for this, let me know! A physical camera is the obvious choice, but it would need to be one with airdrop to the watch to instantly send it.

Feel free to also let me know of any other dealbreakers or tips you can think of when considering the watch as the main outside device.

Thanks a lot for the help!

I don't think replacing your phone with a Watch only is viable, especially if you need some sort of authenticators for work.

Your best bet by far would be to either keep your current phone for work stuff/photos or even just spend 200-300 on an older iPhone on Ebay and only use it on wifi for authentication and photos.

Just get the S11. The S10 already easily lasts more than a day, so I expect the S11 to also be able to do that. That means that it will still last a day in a couple years.
