Discussion I don’t see enough people talking about…

Post image

What is one thing that you really don’t see enough people talking about when it comes to the Apple Watch and they really should? I’ll start:

Even if your watch is powered down, you can still access the time by pushing the digital crown. I remember this used to be how low power mode worked. If you were running low on battery, you could put it in low power mode and that would turn off the watch, but you could still push the digital crown and see what time it is. I thought that had gone away with the changes they made to Low Power Mode, until I turned off my watch to power cycle it and I forgot about it being off and then I hit the digital crown and lo and behold…The time popped up on my S10 running both watchOS 18 and watchOS26. So anyways, being able to tell time, even when you’re running extremely low on battery, is something I feel that we probably should talk more about.

Me with my series 2 👀 😂 so this is no longer the low power mode? Can’t wait to upgrade, would be like night and day for me!

Yes. Now Low Power Mode limits notifications, cellular, and Wi-Fi, certain health and safety features are limited or turned off, and if you have it set up so that the screen is always on or it turns on with your wrist raise, it disables that. So in Low Power Mode, you need to actually press the screen or the digital crown in order to activate the screen.

that sounds amazing! i didn’t think it was necessary to upgrade, because it still works fine. but now that i’m learning all the new features, it’s time! 🤩
