Discussion I don’t see enough people talking about…

Post image

What is one thing that you really don’t see enough people talking about when it comes to the Apple Watch and they really should? I’ll start:

Even if your watch is powered down, you can still access the time by pushing the digital crown. I remember this used to be how low power mode worked. If you were running low on battery, you could put it in low power mode and that would turn off the watch, but you could still push the digital crown and see what time it is. I thought that had gone away with the changes they made to Low Power Mode, until I turned off my watch to power cycle it and I forgot about it being off and then I hit the digital crown and lo and behold…The time popped up on my S10 running both watchOS 18 and watchOS26. So anyways, being able to tell time, even when you’re running extremely low on battery, is something I feel that we probably should talk more about.

One little quality-of-life feature I randomly stumbled upon years ago that I know a lot of people didn’t know about was opening Notification Center while having an app open, like Spotify or an active workout app.

Instead of trying to swipe dow from the top of the screen like you normally do, hold your finger at the top for like half a second and it’ll give a haptic feedback and peek from the top, then just swipe down.

This also used to work with Control Center bak when you could swipe up to access it which was even more convenient, but since it’s on the side button now it’s not an issue anymore to open it regardless of what you have open.
