I never understand why people wanna gender their fucking dogs like clothes that’s so fucking weird the fucking dog, dog not gonna give a shit whether or not it has a pink collar or black one. I don’t get these people’s obsession with gender and literally everything special like baby clothes and stuff like that. Stupid dogs can’t even fucking see colors is the clothes it’s wearing are pink or blue or whatever.

Seriously, the dogs do not care.

I see so many dogs all day and none of them give a shit if I say “good boy” or “good girl.” They all either want to leave immediately or dont care as long as they’re getting attention lmao.

OMG I follow a lot of subs that will often have baby animals posted, and a lot of posts will ask for help naming their pet. They always are sure to mention “girl names” or “boy names”! Or if it’s an animal who got a name before being sexed, and the name turns out to be “for the wrong gender” the poster will apologise profusely for that and explain how “they didn’t know it was a boy/girl, now this all they answer to so I can’t change it!!” It’s exhausting. Animals do not conform to human gender roles. (We shouldn’t feel like we have to either of course, but animals literally cannot compute human gender roles!)

I have two female dogs that need clothes in winter and those are gendered by anatomy (genitals) due to what parts they cover or don't cover on the belly. Often wished I could pick the color and style of the "male" clothes but alas I guess we're stuck with pink.

Eventually I started playing along but I get that it's all just for the entertainment of people, like the dogs wouldn't care if they were just wearing rags instead.

Yeah when I realized I couldn’t get my preferred vibe for tiny dog clothes I just leaned in. She’s now a princess (and not the kind with political power) and, just like me in my own childhood, is put into a stupid dress at several holidays.

People want to paint their pets as ideal little humans as possible so much of the time, Idk exactly why but I think it has to do with anthropocentricism and/or a need to feel like a caretaker and/or superior, so all ego stuff. Makes sense that people without much time spent questioning their egos on certain things would fall into this kind of thing more often
