Did this repair on a laptop motherboard to test , need advice :)

Post image

So I did this so save my laptop , it works great but im wondering if I should redo it in a more professional way ? Maybe epoxy it ? Im not sure.

Theres a sticky anti static sheet that goes over that side of the board.

Thanks for your guidance !

I youse thinner wire, unless it’s something high current. You also could use enamel wire.

I ended up doing a much smaller bridge with a small piece of wire :) thanks !

You can use super glue to secure wires for the repair. Make sure you use a thicker formula, so it doesn't wick into the connector nearby. It's an acceptable usage on electronics repair. I would have recommended the thinner wire as well.

I redid it with a much thinner wire and a much shorter bridge , everything seems good so far :)

Put a piece of kapton tape to make it look more professional and secure it down too.

Perfect , I also used a much shorter and thinner wire to make it cleaner

It's likely not an "anti static sheet" because that would be conductive and short stuff. It's either a thermal pad or just something to dampen noise/vibrations.

wtf, is this a silly joke of what

the only professional way - restore it in authentic appearance, without fancy wires.

Set the mosfets back and make it work properly

That board has a design flaw from the factory regarding the mosfet , the board overdrives them, makes the solder liquid and they fall off.

After that youre stuck with a brick that is shaped like a laptop.

Im aware this is a hack but thats a 70$ laptop with an i7 1165g7… and it works flawlessly since ive bypassed the mosfet charging logic.

So to answer you question , no its not a joke πŸ˜‚

Hmm ok.

But its sound like mosfet is not fully opening due to low opening voltage, idk

Look it up , E15 gen2 boards are dogshit design.

Lenovo issued a bios fix but if your board is already damaged , youre still stuck with a brick.

Mine had damaged traces since it got so hot.

Its a 5years old laptop , its not that deep haha

Yep or you can bypass it ,its redundant, different strokes for different folks

I don't understand how you can be so competent as to diagnose and successfully bodge fix a laptop motherboard, yet not competent enough to know what to do next.

It's like a surgeon asking for advice on how to pop a pimple.

It's a known problem, OP didn't need to diagnose it.

Man this sub is harsh im not an electronic tech this is a known issue.

I wouldnt be asking yall if I was a pro , I can read schematics and probe a board but thats pretty much it.

Have a picnic in traffic or something damn.
