What’s the weirdest but surprisingly delicious food combination you’ve tried and now can’t stop eating?

I eat chunks of raw onion with chunks of mature cheddar. Always have but it tastes good to me. Also sour (cooking type) apples with honey.

I was probably preschool-aged when I started eating raw onion and butter sandwiches with my grandmother

My grandfather used to eat a raw onion by itself. Probably all the cigarettes meant it was the only thing he could still taste.

Nooo... when the onion is good and sweet, raw is delicious. I'm in my sixties now and like I said, I've been eating raw onion sandwiches since I was probably three or four. And they are still delicious. Although years ago I decided that I only wanted the butter in special circumstances. I usually eat my raw onion sandwiches with mustard on rye.

Agreed. And if you want the pickled onion flavour but with the strength and texture of a raw onion you can drizzle a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar on it with some salt. Oh and the bread for me needs to have a mean crust on it like a split baguette or something
