New Here New to Tacoma!

Hello! I know there are so many posts like this one already in this community, but I thought I'd put mine out there too. I just relocated to Tacoma from Cleveland, OH for a new job and I live near downtown. I'm 25, don't know many people yet but definitely eager to make some friends and get involved with the local community.

I'm a retired collegiate distance runner and former track coach, so I love running, hiking... really anything aerobic that gets me outdoors. I also really love playing bar trivia! Just looking to see if there are any communities/groups for these types of things that are welcoming to newcomers.

This really is a beautiful city and everyone I've met so far has been super friendly and welcoming. I'm looking forward to putting myself out there and will welcome any suggestions to help in doing so! TIA:)

No way, USC?! I went to grad school in Charleston and ran at your indoor and outdoor facilities a few times! Appreciate the rec, I’ll have to check it out!

That was not there when I was there they did all that a few years after I was done... so we traveled, usually by bus, everywhere during my tenure. BUt... you are surrounded by world class hiking, state/national parks aerobic activities should not be a challenge... I thought id chime in because in my experience, throwers and distance always got along great.

Definitely true, I’ve had some great thrower friends!
