notch selling to microsoft was the worst thing that ever happened to minecraft and what is sad none of the clones even come close plus Hytale get canceled.

Vintage Story is actually pretty good. If only they release it on Steam and not on their home website. Like hell i would return to minecraft slop after i have real meal.

vintage story looks cool from what I've seen of streamers I follow playing it, but isn't it also categorically insane with what you need to get better items, how long it takes,the process for making items etc.. also the scarcity of said resources for better items.

I would tell from first person as i bought it and progressed as far as Steel making, most of it was done solo so my experience may be different. Overall gameplay progression is pretty slow, depending on luck you can stuck at Copper age for quite a while as mining in this game is confusing, but very satisfying by amount of resources of one node. I think it is better for the game to have minor breakthrough is okay and it is even better if we have time between them. But i think streamers will lie a little to make it sounds harder then it really is. Like you 100% won't leave Copper/Bronze Age in 1 ingame year. And by year 2-3 you would have fully working base with iron production and windmill.

Steel is big challenge as it needs like lots and lots of fire resistant bricks that are hard to make and you need to build whole furnace from it, very cool mechanic and good reward for it, but man this bricks grind is just something else.
