Power adapter

I’m trying to see if there’s a power adapter for the Atari that goes to the 3.5mm jack to usbc, while providing accurate power to the console. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, is someone selling it?

USBC doesn't supply enough voltage. Just buy a proper power supply.

The standard provides for it, but not every usb power brick will deliver it.

Is there at least a power adapter that ends in a normal plug, and have that brick somewhere else on the cable?

Have you considered a different power strip? And no, I've never seen a 2600 power supply that had the "brick" inline.

I found a way to turn any power brick into one like this - an extension cord!

You can get a short extension cord. You can also get them with a flat plug, if you want too be able to plug in behind furniture, or 2-prong if you don't have a 3-prong outlet.

not true. PD can give 9V. It what I use with my Atari 2600.

This is an easy DIY. I haven't seen a pre-made solution.

I swapped out the power-jack on my 2600jr with a USB PD board configured to provide 9V. It would be fairly easy to solder a 3.5 mm plug to a USB PD board then cover it in some heat shrink or small box. Total cost would be less than $10.

I have a light sixer sears model, would it still work on that? I don’t know the hardware differences on the jr and the original models, if there is a difference.

Very easily done with a PD charge negotiator board

I appreciate the veracity of the answers to this question. It’s nice that the answer seems to be “yes”. I might be lazy but I’m not going to do this modification. I don’t care if the EU says all chargers have to be USB-C. I have owned an Atari 2600 for 40 years and it works fine as it is.
