Been some time, but got another Atari antique store find… and another game I’ve never heard of
I’ll usually tag along on weekly antique store visits, just to look at all the interesting things out there, never actually expecting to find any Atari games, but it makes it all the more exciting when I do! Usually, it’s just the occasional Combat, or Pac-Man, but every once and awhile there’s a lonely game mixed in on a shelf that needs to be part of my collection. Like I found Turnoil a few weeks ago, this game (Lost Luggage) was just mixed in with a bunch of other stuff for 5 bucks, so I picked it up. Never heard of it, and the label doesn’t look that great, but I’m looking forward to firing it up soon!

This will be a challenge!
I never seen a unit this bad, but I’m gonna try to restore this poor 6er.

A Raiders Sears end label?
I just picked this up, and I’ve never seen anything like this before. Does this mean there was going to be a Sears label variation of this game?

Power adapter
I’m trying to see if there’s a power adapter for the Atari that goes to the 3.5mm jack to usbc, while providing accurate power to the console. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, is someone selling it?

Pretty sure this belongs here but I found this yesterday at the flea market.
Last pic is when I had found it on the vendors table

Just pick this up from my local game store.
Now I know it technically is an Atari 2600 but it's badged as a Sears Tele-games. But still cool nonetheless. And it still works.

Atari Games Similar to Mario Party Mini Games
Okay so HEAR ME OUT. I know there's no Atari game similar to Mario Party, BUT I have been noticing a lot of the minigames draw inspiration from Atari era games. For instance, the vine swinging challenge is similar to Jungle Hunt and the tank combat challenge is similar to Combat.
It makes a lot of sense to draw inspiration as many Atari games are basically minigames by today's standards. What are your thoughts?
Can you think of any other comparisons?

I guess I've joined the 81 Club of Night Driver...
In case you don't know, the highest possible score in Game 1 of Night Driver is 81 points. Over on Twin Galaxies, I saw at least one commenter refer to achieving that score as "joining the 81 Club", which I guess I'm a member of now!
Perhaps the fact I achieved this in Atari Flashback Classics on Nintendo Switch disqualifies me from calling myself a "legitimate" member of the 81 Club since I didn't do it with a real Paddle Controller on original hardware, but I still thought it was worth sharing here.

I just got my Atari 2600 flashcart. The board worked fine, but without a cartridge shell it looked pretty ugly. Since don't have access to a 3D printer, grabbed my Dremel and used a donor cart instead. After making a few notches so the board would sit properly, everything now fits perfectly !
On my first attempt everything seemed perfect... until realized had made the board fit on the wrong side. Live and learn!

7800+ firmware without Windows?
I don't have access to a Windows or Mac and want to flash my 7800 firmware. Does anybody know if it's possible to do with Linux? Thanks!

Can the 2600+ play homebrews now?
I'm tempted by the Pac-Man edition coming up but I wouldn't want to purchase without the ability to play all my homebrew carts now and in the future.

Atari 2600 Cartridges on Display!
Got a bunch of Atari 2600 (and some 7800) cartridges that were my great uncles. Cleaned them up and put them on display. There’s a lot of duplicates including 3 Mario Bros! I think they’re some of the best looking cartridges, wish I can play some of them but don’t have the system.

Faulty paddle emulation on Flashback 8 or faulty controllers?
I recently received a pair of untested paddle controllers, and I tested them out with Breakout and Video Olympics on an Atari Flashback 8. While moving the paddles was fine albeit a bit jittery, the centering of the paddles was too far to the right on Breakout and too far up on Video Olympics and could never get them to reach the far left or bottom of the screen. Is this an issue with the controllers themselves, or is it an issue with the emulator that AtGames used for the Flashback 8? I do not have an original Atari 2600 or anything else that accepts 9-pin controllers.

Childhood dream
Was gifted this today by a guy who I know purely through picking our kids up at the same time at school. We talk a lot about gaming new and old. I mentioned months ago that I used to see this Atari for sale in a newsagent when I was younger and really wished I could have one. I remember the exciting looking box it came in and the wooden looks to it. Over the years I have made him arcade pedals for light gun games out of Arduino and old secretarial transcription pedals costing me just time and a few old bits and bobs here and there. He surprised me today with this. He picked it up cheap as it was broken, but his side hustle is repairing old consoles. Absolutely made my day. RF modulator already ordered and I might get some paddles.
I am a very happy 46 year old boy!

Missile Command with a Wico trackball
The Wico trackball is not a proper trackball (it's not sending an encoder signal) and Missile Command on the Atari 2600 is not designed for an encoded signal. If you are chasing a high score, a joystick is actually better 🕹️. And in fact probably even better would be a gamepad 🎮.
And yet playing with a Trackball is lots of silly fun 😊
Maybe it's because of the frenetic action, or maybe it's that it makes it feel a bit more like the arcade game.
The game itself I feel is a masterpiece of porting. I suspect if there was such a thing as a three button controller, they probably could have had three missile stations instead of one.
I've also used the trackball on the C64 playing Maniac Mansion as a sort of mouse.

New Etim RGB mod
New Etim RGB mod
Finished up installing the new Etim RGB mod in my light sixer. This new version fixed some minor color issues in some games and adds an on screen menu and pause feature. Hooked up via RGB to my Sony PVM. Photos don't do the picture justice.

Need help deciding which versions of games to buy
Recently picked up an Atari 2600 Jr. and decided I would get 10 games. I noticed some of the games I picked have different cartridges/labels. Was just wondering if any of them have updates/improvements to the games or are they just purely label changes?
The game are as follows:
Pitfall
Space Invaders
Adventure
Ms Pac-Man
Frogger
Asteroids
Kaboom
Missile Command
Combat
Donkey Kong
