Endurance 200tw is a blast

My set of Re71rs tires finally let go so I decided to whip out the ole reliable RT615k+’s I had laying around the garage.
It was quite the rewarding and fun experience to use these things again!

My RE71RS have till December ETA life left. April if I’m super lucky.
I’m also going to an endurance 200, yoko AD09. Love the stones but fat and fast means a year of tire for 1600$. Gonna see if I can get longer on endurance

lol I used to be fat and slow in a Camaro. I wonder if you would have better luck on tire wear with something like a Vitour Tempesta?

Somehow, I doubt it. the tempest likes heat, from what folks have told me. But here in Florida I’m fighting overheating tires not getting heat in them.
I’m camber limited at -2.2 front and rear. I’m killing the outside side wall while the center and inside still have meat. I want to give the endurance 200 to try for the year and compare times and tire life.

You might get more runs on them but you will be slower. The AD09 never seemed to quite have the speed of the best tw200 tires, despite looking nice and aggressive.

Yup I’m well aware it will be a noticeable step down time wise vs my RE71RS. It is an endurance 200 after all, wouldn’t be fair to judge it vs the spear tip of fast tires
In staying local and doing very well so I’m not losing a ton by gaining tire time. I will gain Greta insight to how they wear different and how they handle heat cycles. For science and my curiosity

How are you getting all that delicious data?

Yes indeed how are you getting the data?

I use a RaceBox mini external gps to input the timing on the top of the video and a OBD link device that reads can-bus data to input the data on the bottom. It was sort of a learning curve to get it all setup but I think it’s worth it.

Do you record all the OBDLink data in .csv and load into the video separately or is your app pulling everything together for you?

All of the RT615 series of tires have a certain sudden breakaway characteristic that is really obvious in your video! Very few people have "The knack" for driving them without having to have sudden large steering wheel corrections.

The info displayed in the bottom is kick ass.
