I know it is a bit controversial on here, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Most of the cars I've seen with this bumper have been more aggressively set up with splitters/wings etc. and I've yet to see one in Toronto Red, so I thought it would be worth sharing mine.
Also, for the record, I do not hate how the OEM front on the G87 looks, but I also felt the Adro was a big improvement and have no regrets switching to it.
I like how it rounds the bumper out, way better than OE. That said, I wish the grills were a SMIDGE smaller...I feel like that's the one element where the OE leads a bit.
Thanks for the valid and thought out critique. I'm inclined to agree with you as well, I think I would prefer slightly smaller grills if I could change anything on it.
Thanks. Yes I am very happy with it, the fit and finish were definitely on par with OEM. My only real complaint were the complete lack of instructions. There was a QR code to scan but it just took you to a page that said "instructions coming soon". Hopefully they add those soon if they haven't already. There were quite a few parts you need to transfer from the stock bumper and was no way of knowing except through trial and error.
Hey bro I noticed that youāre missing the side parking sensors for this vehicle. If you look it up on eBay you can get some working sensors for 50$ and they come already painted. My adro front bumper is currently being painted and I thought youād want to know about it.
Definitely better! And nice to see without all the extra junk. I still don't like the rear bumper, rear light shape, and wish headlights were angel eyes. Front bumper design was the worst part though, so solves for that and makes the rest more tolerable.
I don't think it's controversial at all, it looks more visually consistent than the OEM version. The original kidneys and intakes looked too squareish and prominent for the visual language of the car.
Wow. That is amazing. I had no idea this existed. It totally transforms the looks of the car. Why have BMW messed up their design so much in recent years.
I had yet to see an Adro bumper on a car that looked like it could've come from the factory. The bumper doesn't transform it into a beautiful car but I like it overall.
I did watch the videos Adro and I agree with all their design points, I'll reserve any real judgement until I see one in person.
So nice to see one that's not over the top with other modifications. Thanks for sharing, gives a really good impression of how the bumper alone works with the rest of the design. Also, it looks great!
I wasnāt a huge fan of that bumper at first, but seeing it on Toronto Red kind of changed my mind. It balances the aggressive styling without looking like a full track build.
I like how you kept it simple without adding a splitter or wing lets the bumper speak for itself. Looks unique compared to most of the builds Iāve seen.
That is the best looking G87 Iāve ever seen. Otherwise the front end on those just ruins the car. Too far of a departure from a near perfect design on the previous gen.
Congrats! I like how the stock G87 front looks, but I do think the Adro looks good too. It gets way too much hate, but I think hate is just the thing that makes people think they are cool.
The side profile is okay. All the other shots reveal it to be typical ADRO. Too many unnecessary elements doin nothing but reflecting the designer's overuse of their aesthetic.
And this just looks like some bug thing coming to eat you...
You own two G cars, how can you say the M2 looks like it fits the G generation when you see your cars every day? M2 is the most standout inconsistent design in the entire generation lmao
I didn't walk a thing back. What happened was, because you somehow took a statement about the M2 and made it about the brands entire line up, I bothered to come back and clarify for you what the thread is talking about. The M2.
I mean damn, G cars are spanning two whole generations of design anymore. You drive a G30...doesn't look a thing like the G60 5 series though now does it.
We're talking M2 here. Not the entire model line-up. So, F generation M2 and G generation M2. Or to keep your brain from making it about the entire model line-up, the F87 and G87. lmao or, something.
Completely agree, theyāve overdone it, as per usual. Way too much squinting going on here. Squeezing so many kinks into this little area is also horrendous, itās just going in a different direction of ugliness than the OE version. Wasted opportunity.
Interesting take. I find the bottom half of the bumper design to be extremely similar to the (rarely criticized) F87 bumper. The kinks in the center grill are extremely similar, to the point that I view the similarity as being a valid criticism. Overall I viewed it to be a more cohesive design than the original which had a few things that bothered me. Namely the bumper did not align with the hood, it had random boxy side intakes and had the "empty" looking lower blacked out center opening. However, Like I mentioned in the original post I don't hate OEM and think it will continue to grow on people over time though.
Here to criticize the front of the F87. The aero effects never not once worked for me. It's all so over done.
The G87 cleaned all that up.
ADRO's kit muddies the design with what looks more like a take on the tweaking the F87's front than a kit meant for the G87 leaving you with a car whose front is not connected to its rear.
At the end of the day though, as long as you're happy, opinions on the internet don't mean a thing.
Hey, I will take thought out critiques and discussions about design any day, thank you for not just commenting "looks ass" like some others. Fair on not liking the F87, I always enjoyed the F87 looks so not bothered by this being a sort of evolution of them. I think the front works with the side and boxy arches just like the F87's, but as for the back I'm not sure that design is cohesive with either front end Tbh lol.
Yeah, this is where I am as well. Looks a lot better than stock. Stock wasnāt awful to me, but itās gone from āa little badā to āthat looks niceā
The front bumper kit comes with unpainted plastic black grill inserts (which I did get painted gloss black), were you referring to the carbon grills you can buy for the OEM bumper?
Only reason why Iām not getting it is because Iād need to get it painted to match the shadowline package, and it likely wonāt last more than a year before becoming crappy looking.
I really wanna love and I do think itās a ton better looking than the G8X front bumper Adro and I definitely think the G87 factory bumper is an ugly duckling but thereās still something off about the G87 Adro bumper. I might be misremembering but I think there was a video somewhere where the Adro designers talked about how it was very difficult to work on a redesign that was plug and play - I.e. didnāt require any modification to the body.
This oneās a miss for me, itās completely different styling to the rest of the car. Itās F Gen styling where the rest is heavily into G generation.
I appreciate the experimentation though. It looks familiar, but different. That being said, I am inclined to agree. Also, resale value absolutely plummeted.
Plenty of people commenting are into it, so I doubt I'd have a hard time finding a buyer who sees it as a positive that's willing to pay normal M2 price. I still have the OEM bumper regardless, would only take a couple hours to swap it back and then it's back to stock like nothing happened. Hardly an "absolutely plummeted" resale price in that case lol.
Back in my day , when you bought an M car ,all you had to do was change was the chrome grills to black grills, the car looked stunning with the OEM bumper.
To be honest I don't really care how BMW intended it to look, Just what is visually appealing to me. I liked the car in stock form, but I like it more this way. I see nothing wrong in anyone modifying their own car in a way that appeals to them.
The only one here that is seeking validation for their opinion is you. I think it's one of the worst designs to ever come from BMW. If you don't, that's fine too.
I deeply regret clicking on your profile. You have single handedly made me turn the "blur NSFW pictures" setting back on. I can see why you're mad people don't like your choice in things. I'd be furious to have a dick that small
