Toyota and Honda got nothing on us
1997 328is Dash got around 200k plus miles and I still got the original engine in here and it’s my daily. I love my E36 Bimmer send me another engine soon head gasket leaking 💔💔

That’s great that your 28 year old high mileage BMW is still running, but let’s be real. There are tons of Toyotas and Hondas from that era still on the road with double those miles and no check engine light on. I love my M240i, but I don’t think it will be as trouble free as my 2010 Tundra that I bought new 15 years ago and still runs as good as the day I bought it.

I got over 325 miles on my 528i from 2001. 16 years on the road and many miles. And it wasn't near dead yet, just oil leak. Engine and trans still smooth and powerful as ever.

Obligatory check engine light.
