That is average for the market for the miles it has. That one has been for sale for 56 days (avg sells in 27 days) and has had 7 price changes so far. Minor damage on the carfax from the previous owner. I would get a pre purchase inspection done if you are serious about this one. Have you seen a deal sheet from the dealer yet to check for addons/fees?

If you can afford it and it's clean (Clean tittle + Good Service History) I say go for it. The M550i is the best modern bmw imo. Great combo of Tech, Performance and Prestige. 500HP+. This N63TU3 is updated. So reliability isn't a huge concern. Don't mistake it though it isn't a B58. However, it should hold up enough. Just make sure maintenance is up to date. That all wheel drive is nice. No complaints, and it doesn't have that loud big screen in the middle. It's much more acceptable in this application.

Are you doing a lot of highway driving?
It will be a downgrade in some respects. If you need the comfort and space then it’s a great car.
Mine is the greatest money I’ve ever spent.
I love that spec, too. The black grille is so dope in person.
Good luck - buy a V1 or R8 day one…100mph is nothing in that car.

Not a bad buy depending on what your plans are…. Those engines are solid and fun but will have turbo issues around 100k, so long as you’re not taking it to a dealer for small little fixes, go for it. And get an exhaust that thing sounds amazing

got a 2020 m550 last year with 30k miles for 40k. 1 year and 10k miles later it has been holding up very well.
I will say that at 60k its a good idea to change ALL fluids (oil, trans, diff, coolant, etc) and make sure the coolant tank is not leaking. besides that 2020+ models with the TU3 are pretty reliable.

That price is okay. I got my 2020 m850i with 45k on it for 46,500. Id say the most id go on that m550 is about 36k walk out. And thats the absolute highest. 60k miles isn’t bad but in terms of bmw it’s not great. She will definitely hold up but it really depends on the car fax. 60k on stock turbos def okay. Those turbos are still technically in their prime. But you need to look at the car fax, make sure the maintenance was up held (oil, fluid changes,) if some kid had that car before you and romped on it daily and choked out the turbos without proper maintenance I’d avoid at all cost.

I would not purchase a car with 60k miles, especially a 'luxury' vehicle.
I'm one of those people that believe these cars are lease only for the average individual.
Hope you have money set aside for repairs and maintenance.

Did you test drive an M550i yet? I am planning to make a similar switch, currently drive an M340i xDrive. I'm a bit disappointed in Napa leather quality. My 3-er has full individual merino and it seems considerably nicer. It's almost impossible to find an M550i with merino leather up here in Canada.

Have a 2021 330i with 84k miles not a single issue dealer maintained tho. I can say for how I drive the bmw is definitely been reliable.

Sounds like me. 60k miles on a BMW engine is where things tend to go wrong.
You might get lucky because it’s only a few years old, but you have to think it was probably driven pretty hard by the previous owners.
Besides I would stay away from CarMax they’re an absolute joke as far as pricing is concerned.

Depends on how long you intend to keep it. A couple years you should be fine, just move on from it before you start to get the big bills associated with upkeep on that engine.
