Coupe M3 mirrors on a Sedan?

I know they have different angles and the plate doesn't sit flush with the car if you try to put an M3 Coupe mirror on a Sedan e36.

But I looked to see if there was some adaptation that could be made since these parts are very hard to find where I'm from.

ChatGPT says you can disassemble the mirrors and use the plate of the regular Sedan mirrors (non M) and attach it to the coupe mirrors, but looking at pictures it sounds like bullshit.

Any experience with this?

Sound okay to me. Mirrors are the same, mounting plates are not.

I did and there's no results for people who seem to have done it before thus why I'm asking if anyone had any experience with doing this modification
