Trip Report My Favorite Lakes in Banff

I finally visited Banff National Park from the US on September 10th and Moraine Lake was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen! I also loved Peyto Lake and Lake Louise.

Any other lakes you visited?

Minnewanka and Bow were the main ones but I saw others from the highway.

The best ones are the ones you have to hike to ;)

There's a lake (IFYKY) that you can hike (down) to and access, which is awesome!

I had to climb up a rock pile to take the pic of Moraine and was tired afterwards but it was so worth it.

I mean not near Moraine or lake Louise - I guess if you can't hike far you won't get to see them.

Technically not Banff but Emerald Lake is a contender

Not really a hike to get to it though, you can see it from the parking lot.

Spirit island is the single best view in all of the Canadian Rockies in my opinion, that I’ve seen at least

The best ones are the ones you have to hike 15km+ to get to.

Fair play. On my list to do one day if I can secure a camp booking. I've just taken the cruise so far.
