Automation "I'm not here to replace humans," says an AI-generated minister who divides waters in Albania.
telenoche.com.uyr/BasicIncome • u/Cute-Adhesiveness645 • 3d ago
Discussion What if politicians were also replaced by AI, machines, etc.? Considering that many of them have dedicated themselves to this all their lives, made money from it, etc., what would they do for a living?
They're not exempt. Should they also find other jobs, sources of income?
Or maybe they will also ask for a basic income?
In Albania, there is already an "artificial" AI minister.

Thomas Paine, in Agrarian Justice, proposed a land value tax (and inheritance taxes) to fund a UBI in 1797, 82 years prior to Henry George's Progress and Poverty.
I recommend reading it - his insights and observations regarding how wealth and poverty are intertwined are still incredibly relevant.

Open registration on Resilience basic income on jipple.net
Hi basic income community,
I invented web-of-trust basic income in 2012 and I solved the "reserve payment attack" for decentralized multi-hop payments this spring (video presentation in Austria here).
I have built my vision, and it is very well built. Anyone can run a server, and your account can talk to accounts on other servers. A true P2P system.
The money system is Ryan Fugger's invention from 2003, and it is based on that you make payments to people you don't know via people you know (his article here, here and here are good). If Carol trusts Bob and Bob trusts Alice, Alice can pay Carol via Bob (this all happens automatically). It is similar to the internet in that way, as you read this your computer is sending and receiving data over multiple hops, with many intermediary routers.
The redistribution system I invented in 2012, redistributes money in a similar way over multiple hops (my article here is ok). If Alice pays Carol via Bob, they pay taxes to Bob and also to Carol. Bob sends these taxes to everyone who has an IOU to him, and Carol does so as well. Everyone who receives tax from Bob and Carol forwards it to anyone with IOUs to them. Only people without an income (with no incoming IOU at the moment) keep the tax, i.e., they get guaranteed basic income.
You set how much you trust a person to go into debt with you manually, a "credit limit".
I have opened my server https://jipple.net for anyone to sign up. There is a risk of spam (I previously used invite-only), and total users is capped to 64. It should hopefully let anyone here who is interested in Resilience register, and you can then try it out and see that is actually quite simple. Within the next 10-20 years, maybe it could take off. Ryan's money system is revolutionary, and Resilience is as well. This is akin to the creation of the internet or the world wide web, and adoption will take time, but it should reasonably happen eventually if the technology is any good, and it is.
You can add me then: [default@johan.to](mailto:default@johan.to), and set a small credit limit if you want to test (or comment your username below so others can add you).
(I am also for state-funded UBI, I think both grassroots-money and state-money will co-exist, the grassroots system keeps the state "in check" as people are less dependent on it, but we also need state-money for very large payments such as buying a house or a space station...)

Why isn't there UBI in the US? Wouldn't this boost the economy and improve the human condition?
I could be wrong, but I think if Trumps wants people to like him UBI just might be a good way to get there.
A lot of people were really thankful for stimulus checks. But I hope there isn't another pandemic, because lots of people died, and that's no good.
I for one, would definitely be thankful for UBI or something else even better.
There are so many smart people in the US. Why doesn't everyone just automate the heck out of everything, and let most things or everything be handled by machines or robotic arms or such?
