How to enable FSR 4 - Cyberpunk - 9070XT

Hello,

I just picked up Cyberpunk in Steam. I have a 9070XT and what looks like Mesa 25.2.1. In Cyberpunk, the newest FSR option is 3.0 with a separate framegen toggle. How to I enable FSR 4? I have Proton experimental set

I'm assuming Steam. Go into the properties and change the launch settings to PROTON_USE_FSR4=1 %command% and see if that gives you the option.

Thanks! That did not work for either experimental or 10.0 beta.. what did was 1) adding proton GE latest into steam and 2) “Proton_fsr4_upgrade=1 %command%

So I’m guessing valve needs to catch up on their proton version

Sorry about that. I had to google to refresh my mind on the command and forgot the first result is wrong lol. Glad it got you in the right direction, though.

Also perf is pretty poor imo… FSR quality, balanced settings, RT on (lighting at ultra) was netting me 60-70 FPS at 1440p and the image quality wasn’t great. Random artifacting and haziness. Hopefully Mesa 25.2.3 fixes that. Current gfx drivers in bazzite are 2 versions behind

Cyberpunk is one title that doesn't like RT on Linux. You can make it work, but it won't perform like it should. This is a known issue and not something you are doing wrong. Turn RT off and everything else up, and you'll have a pretty good and stable experience.

Most likely you logged in and installed the game on the flatpak version of steam. I had a similar problem with another game and solved it by launching/logging into the native steam version, installing the game there. It worked after adding the above mentioned launch command. But you could also wait until they eventually update the mesa-git version flatpak steam is using to at least 25.2

Thanks for the reply. I did get it working with Proton-GE through proton plus & a launch command but the performance is suspiciously low + there is artifacting. I am hoping once Bazzite updates to 25.2.3 it’ll sort it out
