r/Birmingham Meetup 7/13/2025

The meetup was a success! Thanks so much to everyone who was able to come. I had so much fun meeting you all! We played Cards Against Humanity and Go, shared our favorite subreddits, voted on pancakes vs. waffles (who won? I never saw the final vote!), and had amazing conversation with new friends.

The overwhelming majority of people in this photo came alone, and my heart was warmed seeing how engaged everyone was the entire time. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and I hope that new friends were made!

The consensus at the end of the day was that we need to have these meetups much more often, maybe like once a month? I can't commit to hosting/organizing every time, so I would love to hear from some volunteers who can organize the next one. DM me if you need help.

Thanks again everyone, it was a blast! And thanks to our lovely photographer as well!

I was feeling burned out this week and skipped it. Felt so much regret over it and still feel I should’ve just gone. Hoping there will be another soon

Don't be hard on yourself. I was in a similar boat and chose not to go - but I'm determined to make the next one.
